I like a rare item but give me a break, sounds like his son needs to get a job.

Yeah he can't say "as is" for an item listed as new. The only way he can avoid liability for a non-functional card is if he listed it as For Parts or Not Working. Apparently a lot of people selling collector's items on ebay suggest listing it as For Parts as generally ebay will side with you for disputes if you do that.

There were like 77 of these made, right? You know damn well a chunk of them will never be opened and installed in a PC. Some buyers bought them to flip them later.
