Had a fun surprise yesterday. My wife's monitor had an intimate session of throwy throwy with a stack of 6 duplos. I almost cried....

Is it worth holding onto? I couldn't find a replacement panel, but that doesn't mean I won't in the future. Then again, cost of a whole new monitor is $499 right now.

I had the same intentions when my son threw a toy at my monitor.

It was 2 years ago and I still haven't found a panel.

Buy a new one and a sheet of plexi

Trade the kid in for a monitor.

In his defense it wasn't on purpose nor was it malicious. He's only 3 years old and we have 3 boys, things get thrown all the time, we were cleaning up the house and things were being moved from room to room, and he got carried away. Honestly I'm not even mad at him. Accidents happen.

The worst part is my wife won't let me buy her another one! She's using a 24" 60hz washed out Sceptre monitor we had in the garage.... That hurts me more than the actual loss... I looked up my original order and we ordered it December 10th.... 2017....

I guess now I don't have to walk in her using the whole 34" screen with one window open full screen with the website only displaying data in the middle 20%....

Stand alone panels at a reasonable cost and available in general only happen at the end of the models service life especially if it has been used in businesses.. The best bet would be to part it out on ebay and buy a new monitor to help reduce the purchase overhead.

Your priorities and values are incredibly out of whack. Unforgiveable to allow such behavior, from kids or wife. Wife should not be allowed to use such a piss poor monitor. You sir, are no longer [H]ard quality!:D

I swear, first it was our $500 monitor, and just the other day the kids did this...

65" 4k TCL 6 series. At the time it was $1100, but they go for $750 now.

Althought my wife let me get her a new 32" 4k monitor for her desktop NOW she won't let me get a new TV. We've been watching it like this for a week.

That monitor looks pretty torn, but you can get good money on ebay for parts/repair items.

fuckkkk that. I have one of those sets too, i love it but if my kids did that, im getting a new set immediately.

Umm I could not watch the tv like that, I have a TCL 65 625 and I would cry if that happened. No way I would watch it like that for a week. Also my wife would be driven crazy by it also. Man that sucks.

If I had kids and they did that to my OLED their head would of been right behind it going through the TV. Hence why I don't have/want kids lol.

I've been told we're living the "life has consequences" option, and our kids need to learn that "we can't go out and buy something just because its broken"

We have a 50" samsung OLED in the bedroom, so I haven't been "too" worried about it.

have they learned not to throw things in the house yet?
man id be pissed.
