Steam Summer sale

I remember the good ole days when you had to wait till noon everyday to get the daily deals. Fun times.

well we can wax poetic about the old steam sales but we know they aren’t coming back

Think I'm going to spring for Outriders or A Way Out the Prison escape game.
You can use the 5.00 off coupon for stuff that isn't even released.
I would like to use it for Baldur's Gate 3 but that isn't out until August.

Anybody play Pathfinder Kingmaker? That looks pretty good and am looking for something similar to D3, Grim Dawn, TL2, etc...

Game is awesome but combat is spacebar pause alot of the puzzles are pretty hard where you need to go to Youtube to figure them out.
It's a fun game that is pretty complex but it's not for everyone. I have 63 hours in the game

Yeah man it’s crazy. The older I get the less I want these insane 100+hour games. Honestly a nice 12hr game is perfect for me. Better yet. Tower defense or deck builder.
Are you me? LOL. Been playing tons of slay the spire lately...

Grabbed a couple strategy games and an RPG to add to the backlog. (Shadow Tactics, XCOM 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance).

All of those games were Free on Epic a while ago =)
X-COM was Free on Steam anyway not sure of X-COM 2.

The Civ 6 Platinum Edition for $47.43 is a pretty amazing deal. It's even better with the $5 discount.

For those who have been waiting to get Gathering Storm but own the other content, just get the Platinum Edition for $10 and you'll get Gathering Storm for this price instead of the standalone deal price of $20.

What if I don't own the Platinum edition or any versions of Civ 6? If I buy the Plat edition, could I still get Gathering Storm for $10?

No - you would just get all of Civ 6 and expansion content except for New Frontier Pass. Very much worth it if you are familiar or have been interested in jumping into Civ. Gathering Storm adds a lot of really cool gameplay elements.

Can attest. Got Civ6 from the Epic store for free, splurged on the DLC. Completely enhances the game.

Currently, I'm eyeballing a few titles:

Return of the Obra Dinn ($14.99)
Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark ($10.19)
Metro Exodus ($17.99)
FYI all your links are the same.

I, too, have been eyeballing Fell Seal. Looks like a classic strategy RPG that I could get into. Metro is okay, but I don't think it's as good as the first two.

So are there any of those Steam card things to sell this time around? Want to see if I can knock down the price for Star Wars Squadrons. Think the cards only go for a few cents anyways. I know 7 or 8 years ago I'd get $3-4 from those cards over the course of a sale and would wait until the last day of the sale to get something with those funds.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for 50% off

To get to $30 I added a Pillars of Eternity deadfire DLC

I might later jump on Pathfinder: Kingmaker enhanced edition for $11.99

Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition ($13.99 alone)
Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition ($22.49 alone)
for $25.53 good?

Anyone played these?

Also: How does this make any sense?

I haven't played any of the older school ones. However, D:OS is really solid, but D:OS2 really spoils everything that D:OS has to offer. If you like the CRPG genre, Divinity: Original Sin does a fantastic job. The first Divinity: Original Sin is quite slow starting out but it's very centered around progressing your character. If you don't like talking to NPCs and the slower aspects of an RPG, then don't waste your time.

any body know the website that tells you the lowest the game has been?

only interested in few games:
Shadow of war
South Park fractured butt whole
Skyrim special edition
Fallout 4 and new Vegas

I have played Original Sin 1 - it was good. I have not gotten around to the second one though.

Good ole steam summer sale....where we all add more games to our long backlog, and never get a chance to play

Well I wouldn't say never....just very unlikely as it tends to grow faster than I take games out of it. Thankfully there is no such thing as a buffer overflow ;)

I dont know the site but I think unless you dont own Skyrirm its not worth buying a new copy over. Unless its like 3 bucks. Shadow of War was meh, I feel like I over paid for it last year. Id peg it at a $20 game. Fallout 4 and New Vegas def worth getting - New Vegas was awesome imo. I really enjoyed Hardcore mode.

There's a cool Chrome extension called Augmented Steam that will show you, on Steam's page below the game's price, what the current lowest and historical lowest have been.

I have never played skyrim. Or do I own it. I remember playing the hell out of Oblivion. Just finished Shadow of Mordor(loved it). So wanted to start shadow of war.

Then its worth it. I loved Shadow of Mordor also.

I'm getting the itch to go on a RTS/Strategy game binge soon. I've always seen that genre as the most connected to the PC platform. Got AoE 1 and 2 remastered, Company of Heroes 2, X-Com 2 (and War of the Chosen), already have Civ 6.

Any other recommendations?

Also, how have they not made a modern Star Wars RTS or turn-based strategy game!? Money/licensing of course, but still, seems like the perfect franchise for it.

Going to guess that they applied a separate discount to the package as a whole that they felt was an "average" or compromise. They should just add up the sale cost of the individual items if they don't want to sell the package at an additional discount.

There are surprisingly very few Star Wars RTS games to begin with. Empire at War was good, but that came out 14 years ago at this point. It's on GOG.

Broken Lines turned based strategy

New X-com game Chimeria Squad but I didn't care for it

Warhammer Mechanicus really good

Battlefleet Armada 2 can be hard strategy
