Just bought this but can't get it to stream 4k videos without buffering sometimes is that just going to happen and I should accept it ?

It even says on the box it can stream 4k files.

what wireless speed is your computer connecting to the plex device (sound more like your connecting to it in 2.4ghz mode)

if the bitrate of the 4k file is more than half the wifi connection speed you get buffer underrunning (so if wifi is connected at 250mbs useable be little more than half that)

Here the kicker it only does it on some 4k video files others seem to play fine even if they are bigger in size. Weird.

Would this make a difference if my drive is formated in NTFS or ExFAT ?

Are you getting interference from a neighbour? Tweaked the wi-fi settings on the PC/laptop? Does your wi-fi router have enough bandwidth?

Have you tried adjusting the power settings of the HDD with Crystaldisk Info?
