Need phone with small screen

I am looking to upgrade my 5+ year old android smartphone for a new(er) one that doesn't have a huge screen like most phones do. I want to be able to fit it in my pockets comfortably and my budget is under $175. Any recommendations?
 
Small is relative. What is the maximum length and width of the device that you can live with?
 
I have been using a pay as you go plan with H20 for the past 5 years or so and would like to continue using this service. My phone is Moto E which I think has a 4.5 inch screen so something under 5.5 inches is preferable.

Please specify your desired maximum phone size, not screen size. Bezels have gotten smaller, so a modern phone with a 5.5" screen may be smaller than an older one with a 4.5" one.
 
I see. I didn't realize all phones had big screens now. On the H20 site, they have a Nokia 4.2 which is on my budget but I could order it elsewhere like amazon. Is that a bad phone ?

Yeah, a Pixel 3a or even a normal Pixel 2 if they're still around.
I found the Pixel 2 to be an ideal size, although the bezels were excessively large for a phone that recent.
 
The price should come down on the 3a as the 4a is coming in a month. I would increase your budget and just get the 3a period.
