Yeah, this is a big fat no from me. Zen 3 is a lot more exciting (should exceed the new Intel crap in per-core performance, while maintaining the current prices).

It should be almost the same sized chip as Zen 2 - no increase in L3 cache size expected (so really cheap to build).

after being on top of the mountain for so long it's weird to see things like "Intel has a fighting chance against the Ryzen 9 3900X"

Looks to be that way. With new AMD processors around the corner Intel could use a win and competition is good for all. Here is the link: https://www.techpowerup.com/267287/...eview-leaked-suggests-intel-option-formidable

There are absolutely no surprises here. I don't need that kind of core count, so I am more interested in Hyperthreading now being standard across the line, thus making them much more price competitive with comparable AMD parts.

I wonder if there will be AMD price cuts to stick it to Intel more.

That is all I am hoping for when I see stuff like this, two billion dollar companies undercutting each other. My only dog in this fight is me. Also noone cares about pwer consumption. *DUCKS*

Excited? No. Could be interested in getting one, but I'd strongly prefer a way to test a couple of specific workloads first. Also, I dislike they way they are apparently harvesting dies; I wish I could get the i5 and have it clock as fast as the i9; I don't need 20 threads.
