Lots of people can't touch microcenters discount, literally because they don't have them in very many locations. I'm not driving for over 8 hours to save a couple $'s. Their prices are great for the few that have them near by, for everyone else, deals on eBay, Amazon, newegg, etc are where its at. That said, this isn't really a great deal as it's been about the same for a little while now.Price had been that low for weeks. Not a deal.

And nobody can touch Microcenter's discount on this:

I still wish there was an option to disable any threads with the word Microcenter in the title. We used to have one in Santa Clara. They "said" they'd reopen but never did. F'ing Bay Area rental costs...
Why is it every time someone posts a non microcenter deal someone else has the urge to swing by and tell us how microcenter deals are so much better?Lots of people can't touch microcenters discount, literally because they don't have them in very many locations. No clue, that was my point that there is a limited # of micro center locations. However, this deal has been the same price for some time now (eBay & Amazon), but still a great buy!Why is it every time someone posts a non microcenter deal someone else has the urge to swing by and tell us how microcenter deals are so much better?
Amazon has 3900x for $90 more. Worth it for +%50 cores ,no ?
My thoughts are that if you use your computer for anything other than exclusively gaming. (Meaning, even having a browser going in the background while gaming). More cores are always better.Amazon has 3900x for $90 more. Worth it for +%50 cores ,no ?
It technically has more cache since it has another CCX, but that doesn't mean it's any better for gaming. Each CCX is 16MB of cache and the cores within that CCX can only access that CCX's cache. 3900x is technically 100mhz faster out of the box which is what would make it marginally faster for gaming, but all the single threaded benchmarks i've seen show very little difference between the 3800x/3900x.My thoughts are that if you use your computer for anything other than exclusively gaming. Also I think the 3900X is better in single core performance anyway due to more Cache? I'd have to double check that.
Heh, the 3300x would be a nice jump in gaming performance over that 4770k. I'm looking at it to swap my son's 6600k out as it beats it in everything single or multi core and beats the 7700k in like 99% of the cases (which would be the best CPU I could upgrade him to without a new MB). That CPU used costs as much as a new MB + CPU upgrade that is faster all around.MOAR CORES is my thought. In all seriousness I need to upgrade from a 4770k. FIguring 32G ram + motherboard + 3700x is about $600 for 8 cores/16thr, why not pay an extra $90 for 12 cores/24 threads?
