10am PST is right, search list shows it as free but the store page itself still lists it as $29.99. It is likely the normal Steam sale delays.

Agreed, can get it for my son once it actually shows up free!

Should be working now. They had issues getting the free thing going for whatever reason at first.

Can confirm it's working now adding to Steam account for free. Initially was messed up and still wanted to charge $29.99 even though it was free in the search.

Any newcomers to the series: if you're looking over the DLC and wondering which is "the one" to get, I'd recommend the Sengoku Jidai Unit Pack. It adds unique units to each clan emphasizing their clan's affinity, but more importantly adds flavor and replayability. Second place would probably be the "Blood" DLC, but selling blood as DLC is such a scummy move...

If there's a DLC to skip, don't feel bad about skipping over "Rise of the Samurai" campaign DLC. It basically shifts the setting to the 12th century (from 16th century of the base game), but the unit variety is a little boring and the unit scale is very small relative to the epic scale of Shogun 2's base game.

Honorable mention to "Fall of the Samurai" stand-alone campaign, which does not require the "Shogun 2" base game. Fantastic evolution of the Shogun 2 formula with the (re)introduction of gunpowder line infantry warfare. Very fun era to move into once you've played Shogun 2 a bit.

Added and showing as free, I mean it is a 9 year old game so doubt they are getting much sales, so give the base game away , get people hooked, then sell all he DLC for it :D

it's gone on sale a few times, back in 2017 it was on sale and came with all the DLC as well, that's when i grabbed it but honestly haven't played it once.

I already owned it but reinstalled to give it a whirl: Remember it required Adobe Flash. Just keep that in mind. You might be able to get it to run w/out running the flash installer (have not verified yet).

You can cancel the flash install and it works fine.
