The Division 2

For those of you level 40 and working on your SHD levels (the watch), there is an XP Farm that will probably get patched out quick, as it could potentially get you to max level in a little over an hour. I know not everyone is interested in this kind of thing, so I'll tag it. Read on at your own caution.

In DC, set the open world to Heroic. Enable all 5 Directives. Open your map and find a "Target Practice" world event (has a green dog tag looking icon on the map, may have to zoom in slightly). Talk to NPC, complete stage 1, but fail stage 2. Talk to NPC again, complete stage 1 & 2, but fail stage 3. Talk to NPC again, complete all 4 stages. This should reward over 690k XP. Each SHD level is 700k. Open map again and find another Target Practice, repeat as much as you want.

EDIT: After testing this out, I have an additional note: You have to clear some Checkpoints first, because Target Practice will not spawn near enemy controlled CP's. Do this on an easier World Tier setting before switching every thing.

I've been good about sewers. I need to doublecheck those laptops. I thought I hit all of them. That could have been another glitch.

Well I solo'd a level 4 control point right after finishing the expansion - for all the complaints on reddit about how fucking impossible this game is now it didn't seem _that_ bad

Had to play like a pussy but like half my gear was like a random mismatch of sub 40 garbage.

What core stats should I focus on for soloing? Mostly armor? Level six skills without much armor?

36 hours later hit 30. I do way too much side stuff since I haven't finished the story mission yet.

Meanwhile at 30 I ran out of ammo just trying to get past the first stage of the capitol building. The one guy kept reviving everyone and it didn't matter how many times I hit them. Then on top of it you have the rushers and the mortars which keep hitting your position. I guess I need to switch up my rifles since I am using a M1A1 and a marksman. They do the most damage for me though so I just need to spray and pray instead. They take too many shots to the head and that is all I can see since they have the elevated position.

Also, I will take a clan invite if there are any open.

I need back in the clan Please.... Kick some dead wood please.

Both of you post or message me your Uplay names if they are different from here. I think I still have you on my Friends list SereLaw, so I may be able to find you from there. At work now, so it will be morning before I'll be able to get to it.

I am WetDogBreath in game now. As always if anyone needs help just shout it out.

My in game name is the same. Thanks.

Anyone playing a skill build in challenging or higher difficulty? I am and its been tough. NPCs are so tanky, and sometimes it feels like my skills do nothing. I have 4 piece hard wired and currently using turret + seeker mines.

I finished the story with Keener and that was excellent. I like the twist at the end, too.

So they cut me loose into post game. Best I can see my bench is maxed out already and I want to get my level 30 liberty up to 40. I have blueprints. I need exotic components. I don't suppose I'm allowed to bake the old Liberty towards the new one? I have to bake another exotic gun? Have they come up with any other ways to get exotic components?

What should I be looking at getting done here and looking out for?

Unfortunately there are some bugs currently related to Hard Wired (tech damage is bugged), and Skills in general. There have been a number of complaints on Reddit that Skills are under powered compared to Crit Builds on harder difficulty settings. I can attest to this. Skills are useless against Keener, and feel animic in end game activities so I ended up abandoning them for Crit AR / LMG Build (which was only a mild improvement to be honest). The game needs balanced, which Massive said in a SotG they would be doing after a couple weeks of data collection.

For those of us who quit playing months ago, is Warlords of New York worth the 30 bucks? (i never could find a game to really replace this one) I hear its only 6 hrs play time, but that means at least 12 for me lol

I think its worth a purchase for sure, but maybe after they've fixed some bugs, done some balancing and put it on sale. Right now the expansion is fairly fun, but the end game is Division 1.3 all over again. Just needs time.

I baked my level 30 Chatterbox for exotic components. My bench is maxed out to 40. I used the blueprints to upgrade Liberty from 30 to 40...did everything right... and I'm still looking at a level 30 Liberty after the fact. So much for that.

I guess it is waiting acceptance from a game clan mod

Should be good. Denpepe and I both cleared you and Jumpem. If it is still not showing up after a relog, then let me know and I'll send you a direct Invite.

So Seasons released today. I cleared a bunch of Control Points on Normal, then bumped the map to Heroic + all 5 Directives, found a couple Target Practices and tried out the XP farm. Works as described earlier. I still have most the CP's to go so more will spawn, but between the 2 activities I leveled my Season Pass up 5 times and got some goodies. Not bad. Started working on one of the new Lt. Time for bed now, will tinker some more tomorrow. Oh, I did try out a 'tank' build similar to one I saw Widdz showing off. It worked decent, though mine needs a lot of work yet (only 3 of 4 True Patriot pieces needed). Still, it was nice to not get 1 shot by red bars.

Finally beat normal mode after swapping guns to an AR. I sailed through it once Ifinally beat the bombardment section. Of course I didn‘t realize what world tiers entails so I thought I was going to play the expansion next. At this rate maybe they will fix the bugs.

Which of the first three specs is worth starting first? I don’t have the year one pass so only have three unlocked, and it was late when the world flipped so I didnt really examine them too closely.

I like the fact that with the crossbow you could one shot those robot dogs from black tusk which are a pita otherwise. Mainly use the sniper one on my main because i also play with a sniper rifle.

If you're a DPS player, the Striker's with the Savage Wolverwine AR is great. I just got it so going to work on tweaking some things on it. You get it from completing the season mission.

Depends on your playstyle to a degree. They will all let you buff 2 weapon classes of your choice, but their other buffs and abilities tend to cater to certain style. You may have to "inspect" each and do some reading.

That said, in general, Gunner is good for LMG & AR Builds, Sharpshooter is good for sniping & rifle builds, Technician is good for Tech builds, unless they are focused around explosives (seeker mines, sticky bomb, etc), then you may be better off with Demolitionist (which is also the favorite when going after Hunters). There is no wrong choice, just what fits what you're doing best. One tip I would offer though: the medkit that comes with each specialization replaces your default one, but is not always an upgrade. Many people will avoid putting points into it if they don't like it. If I remember correctly, Survivalist was the worst culprit, but I'll have to get in game again to verify. It spread your healing out over time and often you'd be dead before it would be of any help.

Thanks I will look at them closer. I only have firewall, gunner and technician I believe unlocked since I don't have the year one pass. A quick glance over them didn't give me one way to lean vs another. Sharpshooter fits more my playstyle, but not unlocked yet.

as a general rule for many games, DPS > armor, since dead enemies do not shoot you. so you need to have some surviveability tools, some crowd control if you can manage that, and the rest, DPS

original division was a bit different as they had some insane skill buffs for armor, but I don't think that exists here.

can we revisit time square like in division1 ? :)

I've run into more bugs since WoNY was released than the entirety of my play in Div 1 and 2 to that point combined. I can't complete a lot of the missions I start because the next event doesn't trigger (door should open but doesn't, etc) so I'm thus unable to complete the tasks that I'm spending my time on.

I've been stuck inside a hostage container (able to fast travel, at least) and had a Level 4 control point's entire reinforcements get stuck in a door way for a shooting gallery. While some of these bugs have been funny the overwhelming majority have greatly disrupted the gameplay. I'm now getting consistent Delta 03 errors while no one in my group does. Frustrating.

I did the same thing to a Eagle Bearer. Does not seem right somehow.

Clan area is down at this moment. First time for this I believe.

Never mind. I revisited it and it was working.

Tried messing around with Photo mode, but the camera controls are anemic compared to other games. Plus, the shots that the game itself saves seem severely washed out compared to something taken by a 3rd party app. Either way, I was impressed with these two areas and tried to capture their "feel". Mixed results imo. Zooming out to get the shot REALLY starts to fisheye the picture, which ruins it for me. The camera needs more range and control for it to be of use for much more than selfies.

I have to admit....this game engine is the most impressive ever made yet.....truly uses tons of ram, multiple threads, and makes use of the graphics card pretty nicely all in problem free dx12

DX12 used to be really problematic for me but now it runs almost flawlessly.
