missed marketing opportunity to give away 2077 cards, imo

https://www.thefpsreview.com/2020/0...force-rtx-2080-ti-cyberpunk-2077-edition-gpu/

we’re giving away 77 of the 200 cards to our GeForce community via our 2020 #RTXOn sweepstakes. If you win, you and a tagged friend/gamer will both receive one of these incredibly rare GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Cyberpunk 2077 Edition graphics cards. To enter just follow the steps below between now and February 28, 2020 (terms and conditions here):

  • Head to our GeForce Twitter, Instagram or Facebook pages, and retweet, like or comment on our #RTXOn sweepstakes posts
  • Reply to the post you chose by following the prompt and saying something positive about a fellow gamer, tag them, and include #RTXOn in your reply
  • Be on the lookout for additional similar posts. Enter the same way, and as often as you like.

I'm excluded from it it seems, countries around mine are included but not me. Geobanning strikes again.

I think it's time to start treating geobanning as illegal discrimination based on residence.

Blame the giveaway laws in your country. That tends to be why countries are excluded from giveaways.
Plenty of giveaways happen here, it seems they only opened the givaway to those countries that already have a localized nvidia page, rest of europe can eff off as far as they are concerned.

At first I got excited... thought it was a rare "Steampunk" card. Saw the Cyberpunk card... and my only thought was "meh".

Great, so I won't be putting my name in the hat for one. No Twitter, No Instagram, and sure as hell no fucking Facebook.

EDITED: I got some likes on this and I wanted to be clear on something. We all make our own decisions for our own reasons, if you use any of these services I'm not knocking you for it, it's your choice. My choice was to disavow, I just wish more businesses would offer another way to engage with them directly sans third parties.

Of course, the problem for most is that things aren't made to properly display the GPU. (I said "most")

I always thought it was funny that a manufacturer put money and time into a design that you would never see.

Of course, one could argue that was true for a long time for most things inside of a computer. And in some cases, the insides were truly beautiful. Even today, the insides of some high end datacenter servers are beautiful and never to be seen.

Internals in a data center are subjective. They are wired that way for airflow, the aesthetics come with the territory.

Some of these gpus are over $1000, with elaborate coolers, art, fans, the works, and they are destined to face the bottom of the case.

I get a chuckle from so many contests because I see this inside my Country all the time, as the Province of Quebec, likes to see itself as "distinct" and creates many unique laws.

So for many/most contests we see valid in Canada (Except the provice of Quebec). I think you can still have contests in Quebec, but there are more regulatory hoops to jump through, so easier to just skip Quebec.

Just the other day I was going to make a comment how none of the MFG's such as ASUS, Gigabyte, etc ever give away anything on the PC gaming forums ...

Why is that?

giving away 0077 cards sounds better suited as a tie-in to the new James Bond 007 movie rather then Cyberpunk

Someone won't be getting one or they will have one left over if they are only giving away 77.
39 people win, that's 78 cards
38 people win and that's 76 cards.
They have several set aside for promos. Like send it to some of th bigger YouTubers more so for publicity then performance review.

I knew that they'd see the cleverness of my posts here, so I called Nvidia to get my card, they said "You've been punked." Can't wait till it arrives.

yeah, you mentioned a bunch of slavic countries, someone mentioned adidas and here we are. :)
Only one of the three I mentioned was actually a slavic country. Well you could argue that Slovenia is one too, but I think they left behind their slavic heritage long ago. Yes I've been to all three.
Now if I'd have mentioned Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Albania, etc those would be very slavic. The ones I mentioned only have one thing in common: they border Hungary, and also don't get to participate.
