Destiny 2

Before reset I had one Obelisk up to rank 25, one at 14, and the rest at 11. First reward after doing the new quest was 6800 Fractaline. I bumped all my Obelisks up to rank 25 and will invest everything again next week. Don't want to risk the Community completing the Challenge before I invest my 5k (you never know), so I'll donate everything after that.

EDIT: Yikes

--

New Boss was dead before I could figure out all its mechanics, so I'll watch a video before I go back in. Man, the rewards are too good not to play. I got 6 weapons after one run, I thought we were only supposed to get 4? Finally got a Martyr's Retribution with Auto Loading Holster and Demolitionist on it. Has a Blast Radius Masterwork. This will come in handy for the Wendigo quest.

I saw this too, Aztec was right about one thing, the community could go in full bore and dump the 7 stages too fast and not everyone will get the 5k invest in time. Its a trade off.

The boss fight was a breath of fresh air and really enjoyable. On Legend/Heroic it felt even better as it wasn't a cakewalk.

As for that Martyrs, i have the same role and its quickly becoming my favorite special weapon. That combined with a Demo/Rampage Breachlight I have grenades for days and the auto-loading is the best part about it.

I don't need to worry about cranking more than one obelisk for the sake of resonance rank, right?

Nope. I haven't touched any of them besides Nessus as it was just the fi st one I went to.

What Criccio said. It takes all your Obelisks together to calculate its rank, so no need to rank up each of them.

Why would they do that instead of just having everything reset with the weekly reset?

I've been Tangled Shore obelisk. Hit Spider for glimmer, rinse and repeat, etc.

Now that's a very good question, isn't it? lol

Its just been a thing that's been happening recently on Sunday's with no real explanation. Fractaline Skimmers for example can be re-purchased on Sunday at noon EST.

I'm at about 13k, and haven't donated yet, or taken the weekly reward from the quest. Was planning on not getting it until Monday late, but not sure now...

Based on how the goals now have no real pattern, they're making them up as they go based on how fast/slow we're doing this. I'm guessing they're going to drag it out so its a full 5 week event.

I kinda hope so......so here's what i did last night.....i went did the quest to start the whole thing and then got my 2600 fractiline. I donated it to mars and earth oblesiks just to get the max benifits from each site. Then i went back to the tower and bought 9 light infused (?) fractaline. I donated all of those to mars i believe. So i went from 2600 to like 6100. I suggest to maximize your resonance score you buy the light infused fractaline. I cost 20k glimmer and some legendary shards. It gives you 1 full level on an obelisk and 100 resonance score increase. Next reset i will probably donate my 5k to get the emblem and then keep trying to maximize the resonance score.

Paranoia of missing the donate 5000 triumph rising!

Actually not really, I doubt there is a hard cap on donations, and I doubt hitting stage 7 would result in Bungie just going “eh fuck the rest of the time, roll the clip!”
Can i hit this like button 5 times.......i'm very paranoid that this is going to end before Tuesday at this rate.....lol

Doubt they will patch that out, would be a lot of code to manipulate to remove XP for quests completed via this "glitch" and not affect the same quests completed normally. The potential for fucking up more than it "fixed" would be too great.

I used that method on day one of the update to knock out the last 7 levels

Well, only a couple matches from 15000 in gambit now. So 21%Delirium here I come. Also very close to having Hush (need precision kills still). And finally got Breakneck, too bad about the Rampage nerf. (Though in theory at 3x and 720 RPM damage should still be higher even if base numbers are lower).

Turns out Gambit is almost a fun mode during double infamy week because it’s full of people like me just there for the bonus and not all the sweats. Similar to Iron Banner.

So the clan i was in for a while essentially disintegrated around me and two other buddies i play D2 with so we looked for a while and joined the 2nd Division for REMNANT. Right now its only 8 people but if you're looking for a clan with a pretty active discord with activities to join in every day for new guardians and experienced ones, feel free.

I joined yesterday and just finished up a GoS run and it went very well. A few people were completely new to the raid and it was explained really well.

I'm working on the same things, though I was not having nearly as much fun. Still I'm almost to max rank and I need to just finish it while the double XP is still active. Only really after 21%, but may work on the others while I'm there. I don't have Xenophage or Truth yet, so haven't fared well when being invaded. Next step of one of the Quests is to get Invader / Invading kills, so I need to find groups for activities to get those quests wrapped up.

Perfect timing. The Clan I am in has evaporated as well. Was just preparing to post on Reddit to find another. Any idea if this Clan is primarily based out of the States, EU or Asia? I may join with a buddy of mine.

Been working so much Over-time I haven't played much lately, but I did finally saunder back into Comp and hit Fabled for Mountaintop. Haven't tried it out yet, but Imma take it & my Recluse into some lobby and go all yesterday's meta soon.

US, mostly East Coast which was perfect as I'm in PA. I found it through the100.io which is nice, you can search for groups based on many metics with time zone being one of them.

Well, finished out my gambit grind. I now have all the pinnacle/ritual weapons associated with the worst mode.

Do you have any other solid rocket launcher with tracking? Or, my go to maneuver is going in with Leviathans Breath bow and ruining people’s day by one shotting them with it. It has good bullet magnetism, and it’s powerful. You have to get accustomed to the very long draw time for it though, and it’s not great for Primeval damage phases.
I got two flawless invader army of ones last night with that. Granted the other team wasn’t good.

Also if you’re after invading kills via heavy weapons, make sure to have appropriate ammo finder/scavenger mods equipped.

if you are buying the light-fused fractaline to boost your obelisks spider is selling 10k glimmer in exchange for 20 dalacite, he is also selling 5 dalacite in exchange for 1 legendary shard. If you have a stockpile of legendary shards it is a good time to convert some of those materials to light-fused fractaline.

ETA, you also get a decent chunk of glimmer and legendary shards back for dismantling the weapons/armor and shaders you get for boosting the obelisk

This lined up amazingly for me today with Spider, legendary shards, glimmer, and light infused fractaline. I may very well have my tangled shore obelisk hit 300 today. It's nuts.

I have Colony, which always gives me a giggle when the little robots make their maniacal laugh chasing down their prey. Since I use Izanagi with Catalyst for DPS, I can probably afford to give up some dps in the Heavy slot.

I do have Leviathon's Breath, though I've never used it. I need bow kills for Hush (I think), so that is another option. I have precious little for Bows as they are typically an auto deconstruct for me. Besides the 2 exotics, I think I've kept 2 legendarys in my Vault. I should check Menagerie, because I think I'm one specific Boss away from having the Truth (the Ogre). Some how he is never the Boss when I play it. I need to do the Pit of Heresy for Xenophage, but have not had much luck on LFG trying to get a group willing to take the time. Soloing it has not gone well so far. I'll get there eventually.

Anyway, thanks for the tips.

Do we have any idea of what obelisk level we should be shooting for? I'm up to ~150. I have ~2000 legendary shards I could keep cashing in at Spider but don't really want to waste all of them (and spend the day hopping between TS and Tower) for no reason.

Colony isn’t a bad choice either, just keep in mind it takes 2 shots to kill a guardian typically, but it can fire them off very quickly.

If you decide to go for Hush just remember that guardian kills count for 10(I think) kills so that can make getting through it much quicker. I’m not a bow user either the majority of my progress was with Leviathans Breath, and some was with a Spiteful Fang (Black Armory bow) with a very fast draw time.

As for Truth, Menagerie bosses rotate weekly. Arunak should be the boss come after the reset on the 18th. After that though there are more steps (finding some map pieces or something goofy) and then a match made strike in which you activate some talismans throughout and get Truth at the end of it.

The only thing you "need" to do is get them maxed to 11 and have at least 5000 frac to donate for the triumph.

Anything more is entirely voluntary with some tangible and some not so tangible benefits.

As for the not so tangible, its just having a big number on your emblem once this is all over. Some people are shooting for 1 Million donated on their own so keep that in mind. Beyond showing off, it serves no purpose.

However, right now the more frac you have to donate, the more weapon rolls you can pump out and XP you can farm, just sittin in the tower.

If you have timelost weapon frames in your bounties, every 400 frac you donate will complete it. For something like Perfect Paradox, you should be able to pick and hold 6 or 7. So that means every 400 frac you donate, you complete 6 or 7 bounties so you get the XP gains, plus 6 or 7 Perfect Paradox's to help hunt that god roll.

Now, you can increase the amount of "generated fractaline" you get back each week by increasing your overall resonance power (tower obelisk tells you what it is), which is done by increasing each obelisks resonance rank.

For instance, 2 weeks ago i grinded and got my resonance rank up to ~12k so last tuesday at reset, I had 12k generated resonance waiting for me after I completed that short quest. I DID NOT withdraw it at that time and waited until yesterday. While I kept it in there, any fractaline I get and then invest into any of the planetary obelisks increased my overall resonance power so that generated fractaline amount grew.

Come yesterday and I had finished all the bounties across all three characters and decided I wasn't going to do any more this week. So, I withdrew the generated fractaline which had now grew to almost 18k and took it to the Tangled Shore (doesn't matter where but this one is convenient for a reason I'll mention in a minute) to invest it. (this takes some time.. ugh).

When i was at the tower, i also spent all my glimmer on Light Infused Fractaline which will artifically increase a planetary obelisks power by one without donating. So while in the tangled shore, I also used all those.

Now specifically yesterday, Spider was selling glimmer for dattos lettuce and dattos lettuce for shards so... you can see where this is going. People were going nuts buying the infused frac at tangled shore, investing them, sparrowing to spider and refilling, back to the tower to buy more infused frac and so on. I spent ~4k shards yesterday and still have 12k left but I just got tired of the insanely monotonous "game play"

tl;dr the reason to play this invest/donate game is the potential for insane amounts of XP and weapon rolls.

Thanks for the info. I pretty much just aim to hit season lvl 100 to get all my seasonal rewards so I think I'm done leveling up obelisks then, maybe 1 more week.

I did the same thing yesterday but only use about ~2k shards with spider. I can't imagine how boring 4k was lol.

I don't see any reset on the obelisks yet so I'm thinking everything is lining up on the weekly reset Tuesday.

I went from 200 to 410 or so on Tangled Shore Obeslik with the routine that was going yesterday. I think I've had enough. ;)

Yeah I was paranoid and withdrew on Sunday right before reset but it turned out to not be a problem. I wasn't going to do much more grinding after that anyway so it wasn't a big deal.

Forced myself back into Gambit last night, before double XP ended today. I was 3000 points away from getting 21% Delirium and just wanted it over with. Most stressful 5 hours of "relaxation" I've ever spent. I don't think I would hate this mode as much if I had the right gear / weapons for it. Then again, I've never enjoyed games that mix PvP & PvE... though how are you supposed to counter an opponent with wall hacks and auto tracking heavy weapons? Devs just gave up in this mode and walked away. Not sure it would matter for me if they didn't; I want to focus on one or the other. They take diferent builds and goals. Having to deal with Invaders during damage phase just pushes me straight into rage mode. It will be a good long time, if ever, before I darken the Drifter's door again. Not sure there is a reward good enough.

Hush and Delerium are worth it IMO. After that? Meh. I went into Gambit last night with my Ace, Subtle Calamity, Hammerhead and basically tore it up. Weapons that do a lot of hard, spread damage fast and run for the motes.

It continues to amaze me to be in rounds of this and watch people STILL not bother to pick up motes.

I do have to wonder about some cheating. I know what time it is in this or Crucible when I blatantly get shot through a solid object. I don't think the cheating is too bad but I do think there may be some issues.

21% Delirium is definitely worth it. And similarly I find Python somewhat worthwhile for me as well. I enjoy the Overflow perk for those two.

The only time I don’t actively pick up motes was finishing up Breakneck. I went in full Sweet Business kit. Unflinching rifle aim, Auto rifle Reserves, Auto Rifle scavenger, Actium War Rig. I might not have been fast moving, but I was an absolute stream of bullets.

That was a legitimately fun load out in ambit.

Maybe I will chase Hush some day.

The Teams were part of my frustration. We are playing at "Legend" level, which seems to show in the Opponents we are facing, but then I am still getting teammates that lone wolf, ignore Blockers while they bleed the bank dry, run in guns blazing with 10+ Motes on them, won't revive even when there is no cost to doing so, etc. I do enough stupid stuff all on my own. Then the Invaders are relentless. You literally cannot focus on anything else because they never stop. You no more than kill one and you are getting the notification for the next one. It is worst after the Primeval spawns and they know you are distracted. 7 out of 10 rounds we would have to start over on its health bar because half or more of the Team would die and restore all it health. There were rounds we wouldn't even have half our Motes banked and the other Team would already have half their Primeval's bar down. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I cannot play this mode without leaving it hoarse and with a headache.

I should try that. I was working on Breakneck also, but with Hard Light. It would take us so long to collect Motes using it that I went back to nading everything with top tree Dawn Blade. I melee from the air using Sunbracers, activate 5 seconds of infinite grenades and Solar bomb everything in sight. I usually die before I hit the ground, but we can bank 20+ motes almost instantly doing this. I'm an old Battlefield player, so though I try not 'playing the objective' for the different quests, I always get sucked in. When Devs create quests that force people to give a big ol' "F U" to your Team in order to complete them, I want to slap somebody, so I'm not very dedicated. Probably why it takes me so long to get them done, lol.

Oh, and I did get 21% Delirium. Sorry, mentioned it but never confirmed.
