Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Has anyone sunk in the time for the DLCs at all considering picking them up on the summer Steam sale.

Added some commands for extra shadow KDC

I needed a walkthough for that part I didn't know there was a key on the shelf in the ktichen.
It's very hard to see...
Once you escape the Monk Monastery it's a really good feeling because it's like your day job.

I'm in the middle of a new play through after taking about a year away from the game. I'm about 80hrs into the game and level 15, anyone know when I should start doing the DLCs I haven't done them before. I'm currently on Nest of Vipers for the main quest. I assume I can do From the Ashes right after that. Not sure when I can do Band of Bastards or the Hans Capon content. I know I can do the Teresa DLC, but am saving that for later.

I have done a few mods on KDC but not interested in making anymore.Took way too long to get this out.I can see though in a couple years some great mods and some HD Texture Mods real quick after the tools are released

I hope they make another game with magic added.
That would be awesome. The realism thing they were going for was a fail for me.Imagine in the 1400's you can not swim, fish ,no animals in the woods for hunting except rabbit ,pig, deer.I could go on and I still loved the crap out of the game.

Yea this. Also I think the hunting animals part especially could have at least had more use, the animal hide should have been used to sew clothes, shoes with for example. Also I had wished for a regular beer drinking games where you could end up waking up in random places in the town if losing the game with a slight chance to have some money stolen etc. but got alcholism boost if won and maybe slight likeable stats boost etc. More rumors/town gossip and mission stuff from the pubs with occasional fighting taking place to make it feel more authentic place etc.

Feels like there's almost endless possibilities to make the game feel more like an authentic experience where you just wanna live and do your daily routine stuffs, right now feels like it just has the bare minimum.

I agree 100%

This is the kind of thing that seems very doable with the upcoming mod-tools! Consider what kinds of overhauls we've seen with titles like Fallout 3 / New Vegas / 4 and Elder Scrolls Morrowind / Oblivion/ Skyrim , not to mention all The Witcher (1, 2, 3) games, so I'm sure KCD will have a thriving modding community beyond the existing one when official tools release!

I remember playing KCD last year for hours. Spent hours sneaking into houses and stealing good gear. I got really good at combat. For some reason I stopped playing and just fired the game up last night and I can't even remember how the controls work and what to do. Damn.....

Every game should have an optional tutorial that just runs through combat and mechanics for returning players, something 10min or less.

I am in the same boat, I stopped playing at the monastery infiltration and now I feel like I should just start over.

Well, glad i'm not the only one then. Yeah it sucks. I put a lot of hours into getting good gear and finding the best sword. I got really good at sword combat and pretty ok with the bow. I got the best horse doing the quest line and just stopped due to real life and family. Don't think I want to start over but just playing the game last night

made me remember how beautiful it is. Maybe if I play a few hours i'll get my bearings back. Happens to most games I play in my back log. Stop playing and come back and forget the controls and hit the quit button..

I remember that the mace weapons are OP as hell, you can cripple their arm (even shields) with a few over hand swings, and one hit on most enemies head (even with helms) will kill em.

Still, where I left my save is brutal, hard infiltration mission and completely out of practice!

I had the same issue after taking a break from the game. I found that going back and doing the training with Captain Bernhard was enough to get a feel for the combat.

I like the realism vs magic aspect of KC: D there are already enough sword and sorcery games out thier.

I get it, but can you imagine if they took this realism, refined it and added some hard magic.

I'm all for refined realism. Even adding some mundane daily tasks, better huntable wildlife diversity (pheasant, squirrel, eastern European centric of course).

But hard pass on magic in any form, it would just become another cookie cutter RPG of the last twenty years, with token realism. I would be more interested in KC: D 2 (if it ever comes) to be set about 100 years later, at the dawn of gunpowder, where muskets were extremely rare, but out there. Or roll the era back even further.

You can only take the realism aspect so far. The potions are essentially "magic". I still have not figured out combat in the game. Instead I gave a bow to the face in any fight I had to do. hardly realistic.
But I am not knocking the game, this is an absolutely fantastic game in the way they have implemented it.

It just sucks. There's no other way to say it. ;)

Agreed.

I learned how to use the Bow after I couldn't beat Runt or whatever his name was. He would kick my butt if I tried to Melee him.

wow, that is pretty freaking huge. I guess they are doing that with the hope of selling DLC. This is a great game.

I tried to like this game, I really did.

The graphics were stunning, story seemed cool, but I just found the combat mechanics really janky, never could get used to them.

Bannerlord will finally drop sometime this spring, so I doubt I will ever finish this.

take a mace, swing over head at them, end of game. The heavier the better.

Free Next week on Epic launcher...

great news...been wanting to try this ever since the game came out...I wonder if the HD Texture Pack will be available on the Epic Store

EDIT: just checked the Epic Store and the HD Texture Pack is listed as an optional download...

the combat can be extremely difficult. as said, the key to it is to forget all the shit you are taught at the beginning. spar with the trainer until he offers to teach you perfect block. then in combat you wait for perfect block then you beat the hell out of the opponent. anything else and the opponents will punish.

you can get good at it too, it’s just very different from every other combat system. I got quite good at all of it by the end of 100 hours.

Seriously though, the mace weapons break combat, they stagger blocking arms and shields, eventually breaking the arm (2-3 swings once you have decent skill and the heaviest maces), and most enemies go down in one clean head shot. Once their arm is broke they take plenty of damage even if they block. Even early game it’s fairly OP.

guess I'll have to finally sign up to epic for a free game........ been
wanting to try kingdom come deliverance for awhile , and since it'll
be free from feb 13 - 20th , can't resist
thanks for posting about it .
