Navi RX 5700 to 5700 XT BIOS Flash

At stock you are either left with a noisy fan or high temps with the reference cards. Personally, I'd undervolt it and see what you can get on that end before you go crazy with the fan curve.

Yeah so I installed my RX 5700 today, I fucking love this thing. Can't hear it over any other fans at all. Performance is excellent, my games have never looked better (I'm coming from a Fury Nitro). I'll have to try out undervolting on the weekend and looking into this bios mod, more performance with my monitor's refresh rate being 75hz seems unnecessary though.

Sweet. Glad you're enjoying it. Really happy with the 5700XT myself.

What resolution are you at? You may not need to overclock at all, see if you need the performance.

So I'm running 1440p on a 75hz monitor and it seems totally fine for that.

I am pleased. XFX 5700 Reference Cooler. 42% Fan Speed. Just played 1-2 hours of Battlefield V and Junction Temp was 85C. 1900 MHz @ 1000 mV.

It runs better then I play (1080p 60Hz) also I replaced my Samsung cable with a 4K HDMI 2.0 cable ($9.99 ) Wal - Mart as I like the color depth better .

Some Devil May Cry 5 is my current game .

Just flashed my Sapphire Pulse 5700 to XT. Used the Windows GUI, no issues. Gained 1000 points on Firestrike normal.

Will see what Modern Warfare does to it in about 25GB...

Sails through Modern Warfare @ 4K, settings cranked. ~50FPS average is what it feels like. I wouldn't play multiplayer at those settings but it's awesome for campaign mode.

I don't have fraps installed yet (is that what I still use , it's been a while) so I'm not watching the yellow corner number until I clear the campaign.

I have a fairly ancient [email protected] on a msi p67a Mobo, 980gtx, 16 gb ram, ssd with an 800 watt evga psu. Monitor is a venerable 27" BenQ 144 hz@1080p.

Would a 5700 be a worthwhile upgrade until I can afford to replace the rest of the system to go up to 1440 resolution? I see decent models for $299 on Amazon and I have $150 credit there so...

I think it would be a nice upgrade.

for reference the best I can get on air w/ 5700xt for clock speeds is 2050 ingame sustained. Also anything over 900mhz memory crashes instantly in 3d applications.

i just tried the software mod using morepowertool(igorslab.de) and it seems to work great. this might be a good option for those that dont want to do the bios update on a single bios card. it alters the sppt config to allow the same function as the bios flash. ive got my 5700 DD ultra up to 1900/1850 so far.

I haven't tried a more recent version of the morepowertool since I just did the bios flash, but it's nice to see options out there.

thats why i posted it :) my card does have dual bios i just was being lazy and it worked great. unlocks all the power and card states and you can crank it up.
edit: dual not dula AND i just figured out you have to reapply it after a driver update...
