Destiny 2

I think the orb dupe would be a requirement for a solo run because someone needs to touch the totem's pad because of its wipe mechanic, right?

Not required, no, just much harder. Off the top of my head, iFrostBolt did a hilarious solo flawless without duping any orbs.

Rolled a warlock and I'm already enjoying that jump and play style. By using the boost like you all talked about once I got the Tower and talked to everyone I went through my season stuff and hit all that, hit a handful of things in my collection, cashed in some Vanguard and Crucible toxens, etc. and I'm 970. From what I see I have to re-do black armory (?), mystery box (I saw this and took it) , Banshee's workshop, and probably some other quests but it doesn't look like I'm too far behind the 8 ball here. Is that as far as I "boost" things in terms of quests, etc?

I'm really not sure how that works, but you may or may not need to do the campaigns again? Amanda Holliday has the quests to start them.

As for things like the Mysterious Box, that's for Izanagis Burden which you only need once so no need to bother with that again. Any quests for weapons that Vendors have you don't need twice.

What's your light minus the artifact? (DIM keeps track of this nicely btw) If you're not 960 yet, you might just want to focus on Powerful rewards and of course exotic drops. You get the awesome experience of all exotics being new exotics.

It doesn't look like it although yes, she has those quests.

Good.

I'm maxed out without the artifact. Definitely 950 at least. I'll double check right now with DIM.

Q-BZ or anyone here really, we're always looking for more people to fill out our roster. I think our usual crew is still napping from the holidays so we fell out of our weekly raid/menagerie routine. Haven't raided in over a month now and we still have Crown of Sorrow, Scourge of the Past, and Garden of Salvation left to tackle.

My group is mostly me, my wife, my sister, and friends. Try to keep things casual, and we're usually active in the evenings after we put the kids to bed (7:30PM PT).

So, you can't max out the artifact's power increase. Its infinite. That's how people are already at 1000+ power.

You have your base power minus artifact which is 960 (or 970 with Pinnacle rewards) and then the artifact power on top of that. If you hit F1, you're shown your total so base + artifact.

For example i'm 968.5 base + 18 artifact for a maximum of 986.5. If I equipped all my highest gear, that's what it would show in game.

Example of how DIM breaks this down:

You want to continue doing Powerful rewards until your base power is 960.

Ok. According to DIM right now I am 975.5/ 960.5 on the Hunter.

I am 973.5/958.5 on Warlock. I need to doublecheck my artifact. I'm pretty sure it's maxed.

Ok so if that's the case your warlock's base power is very close to max (960) so you don't have to do much to get it there. At the end of the day though, this isn't really a big deal, i was mainly just thinking of things you might want to work on.

BTW DIM also shows your artifacts power increase. I'm guessing you're at +15 based on the numbers you posted. See my image with the 18? That's the artifact's artificial increase.

SPARTAN VI Ricochet Rounds are actually apparently god roll perk for PvP Handcannons as they have a hidden zoom buff so the range falloff is even longer

Yeah that and the overall range falloff nerf HC's got since Shadowkeep launched has really taken a toll on their dominance.
Yeah, but oddly I for once and feeling almost capable with HCs. Could just be Spare Rations massive aim assist though. Which I think I was doing worse with it when I broke 100. Could just be confirmation bias though.

Previously though Crimson was the only way I could get HC kills in crucible.

Well more power to you! I can't hit a damn thing with that thing. Spare and Thorn though I feel great. Hey that's why we have so much variety!

Be like me, suffer in Crucible to get Thorn, then never use it in PvP. :banghead:

I love using it in PvE, trouble is its hard to dedicate my exotic to a handcannon in PvE, let alone pinnacle PvE stuff! Just running around on patrol though, i love it.

Its funny, when it first came out I was really put off by it for some reason, couldn't get used to the sights and bullet registration but somehow the gun feels incredible crispy post-Shadowkeep.

Absolutely agree. And I'm kinda the same with sidearms, pre-Devils Ruin... I get all giddy when Banshee has sidearm calibration just as an excuse to dust off Rat King.

Speaking of, Banshee's bounties for the last.. what feels like forever have all been the same. Sniper, LFR, scout, pulse, rocket launcher. Getting a little tired of those!

I am not sure what was done to it, but Thorn was slightly buffed and it does feel and work better now.

Crimson I use like a spray and pray pulse. It’s semi effective in comp. I’m way more effective with Graviton Lance though. (And oddly trash with Vigilance Wing)

No thorn for me. I’m only a awful strike away from that.
I could load up D1 and run around with my Y3 (but not Y1) Thorn though. It still feels good even if I’m not good.

I look at the Hand Canon selection, and then at every thing else... I have to wonder why that class alone has been so favored. I've nothing against HC's, use them semi regularly, but some more deversity would be nice. Actually like the spread of Saint 14 weapons this Season.

I know we've talked about it before but, to put it simply, ease and time to kill.

Yeah, I get that, but that too is by design. It's like Bungie picked HC's and decided they would be king. Again, not a complaint, just a curiosity.

I blame Halo.
Pistol was king, then Battle Rifle was king (incidentally their weapons designed/coordinator hated the BR)

Now destiny rolls around and Pulse rifles (basically a battle rifle) are in constant limbo of buffs and nerfs and Handcannons are king.

Honestly I have no idea. But the abundance of HC exotics is bleh to me.

Rat King is really unusual and fun to use. Toss it in with Graviton Forfeit (enhances stealth) or Sixth Coyote (double dodge + sidearm flinch resistance) on a top tree Shadowalker Hunter and they're a blast to use in both PvE and PvP activities.

It's even funnier to see my wife, a Titan main, use Rat King. Not because the gun is barely even visible on the bulky character model, there's just something very goofy about a Titan proc'ing its cloak, then sprinting off to shoulder charge an unexpecting victim. Like an invisible bull in a china shop.

Looks like we're going to raid tonight and we've picked up one newbie. Not sure exactly, but I think he's around 940-950LL, if that matters. Wondering of these 3 raids, what is the order from easiest to most difficult?

  • Garden of Salvation
  • Crown of Sorrow
  • Scourge of the Past

SotP is by far the easiest. Now for the other two, I think the two phases of the boss encounter in CoS can be challenging from a "staying alive" perspective for new people but overall, it's still second place to GoS in difficulty, especially the final boss until you're comfortable with the flow of the fight.

SotP is like a slightly more complex 6-person strike and quite fun. GoS isn't really any longer but again, because of the close proximity fighting in the two boss encounters, its can sometimes be a little harder to stay alive.

This was the first exotic quest i ever got and then i realized the quest required a nightfall with those pistols and i stopped there.
I remember doing that stupid ass strike legit.

The hardest part was the time limit, and the fact that the boss would just Ninja out of the arena eating up valuable time.

If you're home, jump on. There is a new unannounced quest from Osiris available.

*edit*

Calling it now, Niobe Labs 2.0.

Glaad, Datto and Sweatcicle are in Discord with the Raid Secrets people brute forcing it now. This is less Niobe Labs and more Zero Hour puzzle.

Tons of people are split up running 260ish different combinations and marking them off in a big shared spreadsheet.

I love watching this stuff as a big "community event" but i'll be happy to just follow the video once its over.

They just gave up on the brute force, they thought it was only 200 something combos but were mistaken. 1 or 2 more codes and brute forcing it should be doable
