Samsung may unveil a true 'zero bezel' TV

I have a 4k LG tv I bought about 3 years ago and it doesn't have a bezel (pretty sure, I'm at work atm)...

old news?

Also, it's thin as shit glass screen, 65". And you guys are worried about not having a bezel?

My local news station needs this instead of the 4 panel set up they use now. Completely forgot about my bezel. Now I keep staring at it. Thanks a lot! :cautious:

I don't understand the hate of bezels.

I mean, sure, by all means, make them small or make them go away, but unless you are doing a multi-monitor setup, or are EXTREMELY space limited, I'd think that you give up more than you gain by going ultra-thin and bezel free.

A bezel drove drunk and KILLED MY FAMILY!

;)

Now bevel-less tech to combine multiple panels into a larger monitor may have some actual application. The problem with a wall-size TV, if you have one bad spot, you need to replace the whole TV. If you can subdivide the panels, then instead of replacing a 16'x9' $10,000 panel you replace a 1'x1' $100 panel. (numbers rectally extracted to make a point)

Never keep pointy things in your rectum. ;)

But would you really expect the industry to move toward letting you do this? They would want you to buy a new tv just to get disney+ supported lol

My parents have a 720p Panasonic (I think) Plasma from 2005 or so and it has some pretty bad burn-in from news banners at the bottom it looks like. Hows yours holding up?
Great. I've always used it with HD content and rarely 4:3 so there is only a minuscule amount of side bar burn in. I don't game nearly as much as I use to before getting it so that really isn't an issue, plus many games are very UI light now days. It also has a pixel orbiter which I'm sure helps a bit. I think the newer generation ones were better at preventing burn-in, but the thing is huge and gets hot so I totally understand why they were killed off.

I have a an old 46" with huge 3" bezels. It looks like a 52" when it's off.

...meanwhile everyone wants to buy Samsung's "Frame" edition so they can digitally render bezels around artwork you can download yourselfs.....

still dont get why people have a problem with bezels.

Marketing departments tell everyone that they do. When in reality it's just down to personal preference. I like a small bezel, pretty happy with my mbest monitors, bezel super close to flush with height of lcd. For my tvs, i get more upset about poor port placement than the bezel. Or only certain hdmi ports are capable of 4k and/or hdr crap.
