Noob kindly asks for help with custom loop (not sure what fittings I might need)

I'm totally green regarding custom loops so I'm not sure especially about fitting I might need.

Here's what I put together so far (I have Asus Zenith II and Threadripper 3970X in Lian pc-o11dynamic xl rog case.

I want to cool only CPU with water. I want the best of the best so price doesn't matter and this is it:



CPU Block: Aquacomputer Cuplex kryos NEXT VARIO with VISION TR4, PVD/.925 silver

Radiator: HardwareLabs The Black Ice® NEMESIS® GTR™ 360

Pump and Reservoir:Singularity Protium 150 D5/Reservoir Combo Acrylic

Tubing: inner 3/8" outer 5/8'" - PrimoChill LRT

Fittings: Bitspower but no idea what I need, what kind, how many !!!



Enything else I might need?

Seems like a lot to just cool the CPU. Why not just get an AIO and be done with it?

This is my setup now. And I have kraken 72x. But im still getting over 75C when full load rendering. So I though custom loop will give me much better temps.

Replacing an AIO 360 with a custom loop still using just a 360 probably wont give you the thermals you desire, unless you go with a fat 360 rad that provides more fin surface area. I'm guessing a 480 won't fit in your case.

That GTR 360 is a relatively thick rad that scales better than any other design the more air you feed it. If that doesn't cool a cpu, you better go subambient.

Fittings: Highly depends on how much you want to spend. You can go with simple 3/8" barbs for about $1-2 each and $0.25 worm gear clamps, or you can go fancy with compression fittings at $5+ each. If you want to go super fancy, you can add in elbows to make your tubing runs look neater at $6+ per adapter.

Remember that you need 2 fittings per component, so it adds up fast.

75 under load does not sound high to me. The blackice will probably get you 5 degrees maybe a bit more because the cpu block is better. You will need 6 compression fittings that match the inner and outer diameter of your tubes, buy at least 2 extra. Draw a picture of your loop, decide if any of the bends will be to sharp. If so buy some 90 degree rotaries to help. Get one t junction, a valve fitting and a pack of 4 plug fittings so you can make a drain port. You will need probably one male to male extender for the valve. hope this helps.
