just popped back into stock on newegg again, was oos within seconds though haha

Just wanted to thank AthlonXP for grabbing the 3950x for me. Stock run right now on Cinebench R20 is around 9000-9100 which is around 2500 more points than a Threadripper 1950x. Tweaking some ram settings now. This chip is A BEAST.

The more I play with it and the more testing I do, I realize that AMD has arrived once again and has redeemed itself. These are exciting times to be a PC enthusiast.

It's got my vote for CPU of the year and beyond.

Congrats on your new beast. It's a shame how the reviewers like Jay's and Linus and Steve are like "oh look I have a threadripper, these sooo epic, you should buy one". I just want to laugh at these videos because the Threadrippers are vaporware. They are reviewing nothing because Threadripper 3 is nothing but a hoax lmao. I'd have an easier time finding Sasquatch over a 3960x.

I've been looking and you can't even find the 10980XE either. Basically the 3950X is the only processor that was anything other than vaporware on Monday.

DAMN....almost makes me want to sell mine for double the money laugh. The thing is though why would you pay over $1400 when trhe 3960x is around the corner.

because big kids want their toys now and don’t care about pissing their money away. E-peen has no bounds.

I'm interested to see where the bidding ends. I would guess around $1100 or $1,200. Probably net around $200 after paying tax initially and then paying eBay fees.

Honestly I'm just hoping to score a cheaper 3700x from somebody who is upgrading.

Too bad Threadripper 3 is just a myth in the string theory universe. Somewhere out there in Universe x456e-9alpha-2 one of these processors exist.

Now reality check time -- one core hit that frequency whilst being LN2 cooled. However, that is still a feat because it shows the quality of the silicon that is being used in these chips. Well I mean super high end failed EPYC dies are supposedly used. But again since these chips are not real this is all fake news.

Man some people on Overclock.net are turning off SMT on the 3950x, and getting 4.5-4.6ghz all core speeds. Impressive indeed

Honestly, people are damn fools if they don't sell their 3950x's at those prices and then just buy and use what would amount to a "free" 3900x until supply catches up to demand with the 3950x. I mean realistically, very few people actually will use the 3950x to make $1000 over what a 3900x could make them if they use their computer to make money.

but only one has sold for 1500, it seems an exception, the top of the market so far

I'll be at Microcenter tomorrow at 8am to get a 3960x

Only problem is the black friday rush. People with deep pockets will be like oh look that thing is expensive let me buy Baron Jr. A new toy.

Yeah the sovol is basically all creality parts but with direct drive, which is nice if you plan to print flexible filaments (tpu etc) and even if not it helps with reduce stringing with pla and so on. I have cr10s cr10s pro, sovol sv01 and a prusa mk3s.. all of which have been great printers (the cr10s pro was shit when new though, buggy firmware and auto bed leveling issues.. but with tiny machines firmware its all sorted and a fantastic and silent printer. :)

Meant to tell you earlier...I re-did the mount (I used a "squared" base versus the "squashed octogon"), and I split it into 2 models so you can print in multi-colors.

I updated the thingiverse project already. I'm not done printing yet. (45%) but it should be interesting...I'm YOLO-ing it on a FF Creator Pro that's got 2yrs of dust on it. all I did was spray cleaner on the build plate and wipe it off. I didn't even change the profile in S3D, lol. I'll probably burn my house down from igniting the dust on it.

Tustin just didn't get any, or only their staff did lol. I was actually first in line. Kinda nuts, line wrapped around the parking lot. People standing in the rain. Dunno what deal they were after. I might try my luck again tomorrow. Gigabyte Master should show up today (purchased via newegg).

Really? Tustin usually has a lot of pull.

maybe I should have gotten a 3960 instead of the 3950! :) Wonder which one will watch youtube videos and view reddit with better... :) My "local" (3 hours away) MC has 2 in stock they say on their website.

Man Microcenter also had Creality printers for 100 off of 299. I am so damn tempted but I dont know what direct drive is like the Sovol advertises.

Man that 3950x is a monster. It's faster at gaming than the 9900kentucky fried chicken lol. See HardwareUnboxed for proof. (Ok I know, very subjective topic)

I wanted a 3950x so bad today. The "gotta have it NOW" crowd are paying 1500 for those things on ebay.

Which creality model was it? Like an ender 3 pro or something? The sovol is basically a creality with a titan extruder clone on it.. you can convert any bowden style to a direct drive also if you wanted to. If you are mostly printing pla though then a bowden style is perfectly fine.

I am tempted but then I would have to return my current mb and buy a different one, increase cost and really I don't need it.. I will ponder for a bit haha
