Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

The whole game's so simplistic, a lazy tomb raider clone that is not even done well. But people are falling over backwards cause it is SW. Seems pretty generic to me, and not being able to use any weapon but a lightsaber sounds boring. This is literally the 10 minute luke section from Battlefront 2 extended to a what 6 hour game? Pass.

You can deduce all that from some preview videos? Wow.

You mean the 10 minute gameplay video, right? You can't deduce anything from it? Wow.

So you can draw a conclusion of an entire game based on a 10 min video showing a fraction of the game?

Today's gamers don't appreciate anything really especially Steam users usually drag it
though the mud until they get what they want. Which is usually a big childish
gripe from their parents basement. This is a risk to put the game on Steam but EA
hasn't been on that platform for years.

Absolutely. It looks competent enough, but it certainly won't be a must play game. Hopefully it isn't too clunky. Seems like the controls will intentionally be slowed down and awkward to "be difficult" which I hate.

I'm not going to swoop in and try to defend the game "BECAUSE STAR WARS" - I just activated my Origin Premier a month to play it, not that expensive of an endeavor. But I did that because, yes, "STARWARSOMG".

It's friggin Star Wars, dawg.

Counterargument: It's friggin EA, dawg.

We know. They suck. I'm hoping the game will be enjoyable based on gameplay. I like the look of the combat and I think the idea of Uncharted + Dark Souls style combat sounds pretty interesting and fun. Not expecting anything beyond that in terms of deep storytelling, choice/consequences etc. - betting on a pretty shallow storyline full of plot holes.

It's on Origin premier?! Hell yeah!

This + the fact that there's a review embargo until release day probably has a lot of people worried that the game is shit.

review embargo lifts tomorrow night at midnight EST...so pretty much the exact time that the digital version unlocks...

So, the game does something neat with the difficulty options. Next to the options there are three sliders "Parry Timing", "Incoming Damage", and "Enemy Aggression". Each of the four difficulties ("Store Mode", "Jedi Knight", "Jedi Master", and "Jedi Grand Master") changes the sliders.

Not sure if you can adjust the sliders independently of the difficulty options, but I doubt it.

That sounds like a Chore maybe the game is pretty hard the idiots on Steam think the game is like 10-20 hours nobody really knows.

I'd be very surprised if its 20 hours. Most linear action games like this top out at 12-15 hours on average. A lot of the ones that stretch themselves to 20+ end up feeling aimless or simply padded to extend the run time.

Jedi Grand Master for me

That is the mode that pauses the real time action to take you straight to the store page to get a micro transaction based light sabre upgrade right? :p

People are playing this game in Australia already placebo maybe this one kid says its good which really doesn't matter if it's a short game.

How good is that half hour? Also, you know damn well I don't mean games that short. Hyperbole makes your argument weak.

True, but I wouldn't pay $60 for even a 10 hour game - Which is why I haven't bought any of the CoD's for years. (And most of them aren't even 10 hours)

I'll play this game because I have Origin Premier anyways for Battlefield 5, but I wouldn't buy it if it wasn't at least 20 hours.

For me, it would depend on how good those 10 hours are. Give me a damn good 10 hour game over something stuffed with meandering nonsense in order to meet some arbitrary length any day.

$60 for a 10 hour game is the same value as $10 for a 2 hour movie.

I think a 5 hour game can be better than a 10 hour game. As long as the game is that good I don't mind that much if it's short.

Yes, that's how it works. Actually it usually takes less than a 10 minute gameplay video to make up my mind about a game. How do you judge if a game, watch an entire play trough of it to decide if you like it or not? A 10 minute video of different bits of gameplay from seemingly multiple parts of the game draws a pretty complete picture on what to expect from this game. You'd have a point if I was judging it based on a cinematic trailer with 5 seconds of actual game footage.

The only way I'd agree with you is if you hated third person style games with melee combat in them without exception. I still don't think we've been shown all that much about this game. Several Youtubers who have played the game behind closed doors have said this. Frankly, I certainly wouldn't preorder it based on what I've seen. I also would be inclined to wait for reviews before doing so. However, thanks to my EA Premiere access subscription I can find out for myself tonight without it costing me anything more out of pocket.

So, we'll see.

Should have called it "Journalist Mode" to avoid the confusion.

Respawn wants your money I thought the lightsaber was blue in the early videos thinking you can change it to green.

Got it. Guess I'll just watch all my games on twitch/youtube now and never have to buy another one again. Thanks for the tip!
