OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro

I am guessing Tmobile will carry the 7T. Not gonna lie I am pretty pissed about this 7Pro vs 7T... Also with my cracked screen, cost wise its just not economical to get the screen fixed now at 200$. I will wait as long as I can and replace screen and battery at the same time.

OnePlus 7T now on their website. Available for purchase on October 18th. $600 for 8GB/128GB. That ain't bad, though I'd prefer an option for 12GB/256GB. I want to see some reviews on battery life. If it's good, I'll sell my 7 Pro and grab the blue 7T. I like the flat screen better than the curved one on my 7 Pro.

I've been wanting to upgrade from my s7 non edge. But was really dreaming of a OnePlus 7t 12gb version. Hmm.. gah idk now :(

7 Pro if they had a better solution to the camera module.

7T at 599 is going to chip away at the S10e customer base

Hmm, I wanted 256gb this time. I don't think I want a curved screen.
You don't want a curved screen. (n) I just sold my 7 Pro and am using my Pixel 3XL until the 7T is available.

I got very lucky and sold my 7 Pro for the same price I paid for it. A neighbor wanted it for a last minute overseas trip. He couldn't wait for delivery so bought mine today before he headed to the airport. :)

Wow good deal :)

The 7t seems pretty much like a 7 Pro, only it being a flat 1080p screen, which I think is great. I'll take a 1080p flat display over a 1440p curved edge screen.

7T getting some love from a few larger phone Youtuber's.

OnePlus is upping their game to keep up with the price increases but still offering a very good value for the total package.

7T may not be the best in a certain area but looks like they are targeting the areas that a lot of phone buyers want in a rather compelling package for the price.

And of course MKBHD who sums it up as "not bad but looking forward to the OnePlus 7T Pro"... Wonder if he knows something we don't know.

I don't buy OnePlus phones new anymore as the used market on Swappa typically cuts the cost quite a bit on Android phones and the frequency of OnePlus releases kills resale as there are rumors of a McLaren edition already so might be a used 7T under the Christmas tree for my oldest son who is using my old OnePlus 5. Should be a nice upgrade for him.

Seems that the Pixel 4 may be a hard sell if they retain the premium pricing as compared to the OnePlus offerings.

With the rumored pricing of Pixel 4, I’m completely uninterested. If I want to spend that much, I’ll get an iPhone 11. So the OnePlus 7T is definitely on my radar. I have 2 in my family who refuses to go Apple regardless of what I say, so it’s down to OnePlus 7T/7T Pro and the rumored Essential Phone 2. (Yes, evidently Essential Phone 2 is coming)

I don't see any reason to get the Pro at this point unless you like the curved screen.

Seems most reviews come to the same conclusion as why would anyone pay a premium for the Pro now when the 7T offers the best features of the Pro at a lower price.

Storage options are one reason. It's a lot more convenient to have 256GB of local storage versus 128GB especially when expandable storage isn't an option. As well the 7T only has the option for 8GB while the Pro has the option for 12GB. While not super important some people do prefer having that extra RAM.

Personally I'm on the fence about trading in my OP7P towards the Pixel 4 only because of the features specific to the Pixel 4 along with having a what is most likely going to be a vastly better camera.

Camera has been the Achilles Heel for OnePlus since the One. Hardware has been good, the software and processing has been the issue.

I gotta know, those peopel who prefer 12GB of ram in their phones... wtf are they doing on their phone to use up 12GB of ram?!?!?!?!

A number of things could factor in. Things like future proofing, or the fact that the 12GB model is only $50 more come to mind.

Future proofing for what though? Were talking about a cell phone that has a 2 or 3 year life expectancy. I'm genuinely interested in knowing what someone is doing to need that kinda memory on a phone!!!! Hell even 8GB seems excessive but that is what came in my OP6 so I'm not complaining. I mean this is a cell phone, not a desktop/laptop work horse.

Well, considering OnePlus working with the community to support their older lineup I'd think some people are going to be holding on for more than three years. Plus, with RAM boost it fills up your RAM based on usage so I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have the extra RAM to spare.

Honestly I'd pay a bit more for more memory on the same phone -- as stated above, the cost is usually inconsequential.

However, I wouldn't buy a phone that I like less because it had more memory.

7T is really looking like the phone to beat for the next year or so (imho). I can't think of anything available in the US that really comes close to the excelent screen and high end chipset.

Ordered a 7t today should be here Tuesday can't wait! Upgrading from an s7.

Some of the things that sold me:

Flat screen
Verizon support
Dual band gps
Unlocked bootloader
UFS 3.0
Sd855+
Price!

Man if the 7t Pro had a flat screen and wireless charging, I'd return my Pixel 4 XL for it, but I can't stand curved edge displays.

I totally agree on the flat screen part. But I also don't like the idea of a pop-up camera. Totally loving my 7T so far.

Wait, T-mobile has the 7t and the 7t Pro? I thought only the non-pro was coming to America this time.

the only 7t pro they'll have is the mclaren edition because it's 5G and will probably cost north of a grand. eventually they'll have the 7 pro 5G as well.

Ah- I'm waiting for the non-Pro. Hate curved screens...

Huh- it's on their website. I'll go check it at lunch and see what they actually have.

So I was jamming in the bathroom today. I am blown away with how loud my 7T is! Definitely louder than any other phone Ive listen to.

Apparently the rest of the house agrees either:

A: I was too loud
B: my new phone has a crazy good speaker.

Really depends how you read between the lines on their opinion?

You're not wrong! GSMArena tests loudspeaker loudness and it shows that the 7T's is louder than average: https://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_7t-review-1992p3.php

Didn't think I was, it's not something I normally think about as important. But I'm really happy impressed. I can't wait to rub it in to someone who has a quiet phone... Ugh so can't wait lmao

Looked up my old s7 tests.. 8-10db louder on new phone. Well done OnePlus!

They have 7t's at my local T-Mobile, nice in hand! Strangely enough, they didn't have any 7 Pro's so I still can't compare, but between the Pixel 4 and the 7t Oneplus wins (for me).

TMobile is not carrying the old 7 pro anymore.

I don’t own either a Pixel 4 nor a Oneplus 7T but the high DXO rating for the 7T seems like BS. You can see both reviewers and owners on the OP forums complain about the oil painting/watercolor effect in the photos (especially at 100%) which has historically been a major weakness of Oneplus. Not docking tons of points or even pointing that out just screams either incompetence or... an even less savory possibility.

Yup DXO is over rated. Over the years one plus has gotten better and it can take some pretty decent photos. Just not consitantly. I would put one plus just 1 notch below the top tier camera like apple, Google, Samsung and huawei. By no means is it a bad camera. I am okay with photos it takes. Some are not. That's why we have plenty of good choices

I see them as having some limited usefulness for sensors where near RAW output is available; for phones, that is simply not the case. Phone output is at the very opposite end with the most advanced processing that can be done on a consumer device (and also with the help of cloud resources!).

On my 3a, as the light drops, I chuckle a little to myself about how good the cameras turn images and video into mud with insanely aggressive noise reduction. The output is still impressive, but it's most certainly not due to a better sensor but rather far better processing.
