So I just got an Alphacool Eisbaer 360 and need help from [H]

Outside of OEM and aftermarket air coolers, I've only ever used some Corsair AIOs. The Corsairs would have fans that plugged into the cooler. Nice and easy.

On my latest build I used an Alphacool Eisbaer 360 - plugged the CPU fans into the CPU fan 4 pin on the mobo (and plugged the CPU pump into the CPU2 / water pump 4 pin).

This is on a Taichi X470 with latest bios.

Everything works but it seems like the AIO fans that are plugged into the CPU cooler 4 pin on the mobo are being driven at max / buzzsaw / airplane takeoff speeds.

I've tried adjusting the fan speeds manually in the bios but it doesn't seem to make any difference at all - could be user error but I've checked / doublechecked / RTFM.

Anyone have any suggestions / pointers / tips / tricks? Thanks!
 
Just installed my Eisbaer 280 last night (coming from Corsair AIOs as well). I haven't had much time to tweak it, and was greeted by the buzzsaw initial noise.

For me, the BIOS settings worked (I'm using a MSI board, so enabled Smart Fan mode). Haven't had a chance to finetune the settings.

Don't have much advice for you, except that I was greeted by the exact same behavior.
 
tbh i could never figured out asrocks fan controls.. they always had my fans and pump locked at 100%.. ended up just using speedfan to set my fan speeds.
 
Hmmm ... I'll have to see if there is a Smart mode that I just overlooked somewhere. On the Asrock there's an option for Fan-tuning and Fan Controls but no explanation of what they actually do / how to use them. Thanks for the headsup, fellas. Back to the drawing board tonight I guess.
 
That's something Corsair did right with their Link software. Very intuitive fan controls. With this MSI board, there's a weird chart I need to figure out how to set proper fan curves. Probably be simple once I understand it, but felt like Corsair Link took minutes to have everything setup properly.
 
Yep - the USB plug and software control from Corsair was much easier to setup than doing trying to do manual fan curves.

Download whatever fan software your board has on the drivers page. That easy.
