Weirdest pc cpu fan glitch

For some reason sometimes when I restart my pc the cpu fan just stops. To get it to work again I have to shutdown then boot up again

What happens if you spin it manually to get it moving? Could be on the way out.

i'd check the solder points on the fan or check the header to see if one of the wires is slightly pulled out so its not making full contact with the header pins.

Try resetting your CMOS, it could have picked up a glitch.
Failing that see if there is a bios update, it might be a resolved issue.

Be sure to note down any changes you have made first.

Swap in a different fan to see if it works ?
