I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, I’ve read online manual and still don’t know what I am doing.

I have 2 Ubiquiti AP Pro and I never had a controller, just set them up via my computer.

Recently I got a Raspberry Pi 4 and I want to make that the Unifi controller. I have that all set up and working, that is not the issue. I can NOT adopt either AP.

The manual says to hold down the reset button for 5 seconds and that should revert the device to factory settings. That is not working. I’ve tried longer as well, no go. The device does reset and then reverts back to its original settings.

Thoughts?

Can you access the APs over SSH?

If you can, typically
Code:
set-inform http://ip-of-controller:8080/inform
will get the AP to communicate with the new network controller (raspi).

If you don't know the SSH login, boot up the original PC where you installed the network controller and grab the SSH info from the Settings page.

I thought it was 10 seconds to hold it down, then the led ring goes off and then you release the button

I was able to log into the original controller and “forget device.” I didn’t know that. That reset the device.
