My god, that Battle Mode doesn't make any sense to me. I guess they really don't want Doom to the be their Quake

I couldn't stand 2016 Doom's MP mode but that looks alot cleaner like the bricked arched doorways and the option to play as enemies.
The problem I have with Quake Champions it doesn't require much skill to kill stuff everyone is overpowered no politics or skill involved to be good.

I could stand it just enough to get the achievements.

Looking forward to playing Doom 3 at work on my Switch though.

Nor would we want it to be. I know Quake Champions isn't great but it actually does have some of the elements of a good twitch shooter. If they would have spent the time on it with the IDTech enginge instead of pawning it off on the cheapest developer (Saber) they could find it might have worked.

Get out of my head, guy. Seriously, this is exactly what I've been saying since it launched

Battle mode looks like a fresh and fun way to play.

Boss fights. Yes. Really wanted an easy way to re-visit those in Doom 2016.

No mention of SP arcade mode yet. My favorite feature of Doom 2016. Perhaps in a patch as before.

Battlemode looks interesting, although a bit complex. Will be some learning curve on that one.

With MP, why is it they cannot just make it a free for all? Give us all weapons and an in-game server browser for some serious overkill frag fest action we have not seen since the likes of UT'99.

As I’ve been replaying through Doom 3....as great as Doom 2016 was and Doom Eternal looks, combined with the very solid Wolfenstein reboot....when are going to get more Quake?! And I don’t mean that multiplayer only shit.

For that matter, with the rererereleases of all the Doom games, I’m a little surprised Quake hasn’t enjoyed any similar treatment. I’d be down for Quake 4 BFG type update.

Hah I was there this year!
Pretty cool experience overall - got a chance to play Doom Eternal and Youngblood (even though I guess that's released now) and chatted with some Bethesda devs. They were surprisingly receptive to my bitching about mechanics centered around microtransactions and bullet-sponge enemies in Youngblood lol.

Unfortunately, they're not the ones who get to decide on whether to put that in the games.

Yup, that's the vibe that I got as well - but it's good to know that there is still some passion left in AAA videogame development.
