Apollo 11 Moon Landing recreated with Ray Tracing

Can I run 320x240 with dlss and only use 3?? Instead of quad? Hmmm... May just have to wait for Intel to get back into graphics, I'm sure thier first attempt will blow everything and everyone away

Aww, my emoji didn't show, that was supposed to be taken with sarcasm if anyone couldn't tell...

I do agree, it does look off, kind of non realistic/plastic type feel, kinda hard to put my finger on exactly what.

I guess the original video was 1080p grade analog. But they didn't record it. What got recorded was a video News camera pointed at a CRT monitor. Which is why the Moon Landing videos are so shitty.

You're wrong they did in fact record it to film.

The live transmissions (and recordings people made) look extra terrible because it was a slow-scan TV transmission.

On the first few Apollo missions the film was brought back, copied, degaussed, and recycled for the next landing. Most of it has been digitized now. The recent Apollo 11 documentary from CNN Films looks great, even the 1 FPS footage Buzz took from inside the LM:

The moon video camera was 320 lines (with 200 "lines" of horizontal resolution), 10fps, b&w. It was recorded, but the tapes are lost (presumably re-used). All that's left are NTSC broadcast tapes made by, as you said, pointing a camera at a monitor.

Maybe what I heard was an analogy of the quality sent vs. quality recorded HD vs. SD and I misheard or it was mis-reported that it was 1080p equivalent.
