Prime Day Deals

jimbob200521 Some users (SippieCup) really hate the Blues, but then these aren't the old 7200RPM blues are they? Then again someone mentions the head-parking, which is reason I stayed away from the Greens.

That said, I think I'm done with the non-7200RPM drives now. My 3TB Red can get awfully slow in a way that my Blacks never are.

If I'm getting an X470 board, I'd prefer to get one with USB Flashback. Though if you're happy with a 2700X pairing, I guess it's not a big deal (and you can flash it like normal).
Hmmm.

I'm still on a MSI Tomahawk B450, which is badass enough for me for the time being. Don't need PCIe4, extra USB3.1's or extra cores.

May splurge for Zen4 or whatever it is next gen.

I'm an idiot. Amazon Prime is for Prime members only. I was thinking it was like a day where you could get deals as a non-member. oops

I think the 6TB drives are blue not red or white. Can’t remember why but blue drives aren’t as good.

If you guys are right and they are blue drives, I'll probably stay away. I'd prefer white label or reds but I don't really want to spend the extra for the 8tb or 10tb. Guess I'll keep looking.

The WD 10tb is $159 again on Amazon

Pretty sure you can sign up for a free 30-day trial still. Well I did about a week ago cuz I wanted to see the Prime Day concert.

I saw that but that's another $70 more than I want to spend, well technically $140 since I would be getting two drives. Hell, the 8tb drives are $140 but that's still another $50 per drive or $100 for two. Not that those aren't decent prices, but more than I want to spend on a whim. I'd even take a couple 4tb drives at a good price just to add the storage.

Fucking hate Prime Day bullshit, just hate the Amazon site in general. Pull down tab in the search bar so the category is PRIME DAY, search for a particular key word of a good/brand/etc, and out comes the list...I see blue bars on items that say "Prime Day Deal" yay!!!! and then I see other shit mixed in. I know they're a multi-billion dollar company but damnit it'd be so nice if it was easier to navigate through all the hordes of goods that they sell rather than click next page a hundred times... before you get tired and realized you're only about 2% through the listings.

I was literally just about to post that, but then again...Seagate (*looks out for Seagate defenders*).

Seriously though, not a bad price at all for 8tb, I've just heard too many people have trouble with Seagate drives for me to be totally comfortable with them...
I've used tons of Seagate drives. Like any manufacturer, certain drives are not so great. Others are perfectly fine.

I like what competitors do in retaliation..... I expected Amazon product deals and not much else, but have seen some Newegg, Tigerdirect and a few others respond with some possible offering as well.

I agree though, I never really liked the way that Amazon displays product info and it's not always the most friendly when searching for things.

Not a Prime member? That's a thing?
Used to be. Then stuff started taking over a week to get here. They'd always give me a refund or something which was fine, but when I they say it will be here within three days, it sucks when it takes over a week.

I've never liked Amazon's UI.

Some decent deals on smart home stuff, I picked up a couple of Hue BR30 lights for my theater.

Upcoming light deal on a Crucial 500 2tb SSD some may want to watch to see what price it goes for.

I got some stuff that I've been eyeing, but never seems to go on special. A smart controller for the garage door for $30, a couple LED lights for the garage, $30 each and a smart controller for the sprinkler system - $106 - I saved about $60 bucks, nothing to write home about, but no complaints here.
