July 15-16.

Anyone watching it or have an interest? I'm sure all the Amazon products - echo, Kindle, fire stick, etc will.be heavily discounted.

I could use another 4K Fire Stick. But I don't want to pay more than $20 for one. I did score a nice 32" TV for $80 from Amazon last week.

I wonder if there will be any storage deals rivaling the recent ones we've seen...

Hoping there will be deals on switch games, even the old ones are expensive still

Is prime day still just a gimmick? It seems like the few times I've checked it out it has basically been a ploy to try to get rid of inventory that they haven't been able to sell.

Prime day, black friday, cyber monday etc are all bs sales looking to offload old subpar shit. They reel consumers in with a few good limited deals and the rest is usually shit.

That's one way to look at it. It's usually a great time to get last-gen tech at (sometimes) very favorable pricing. Stuff that still suits needs very well - for example, streaming devices.

That and sell Amazon ecosystem items, Kindle, Fire stick, Echo, anything that brings you back to them to buy more stuff.

meh hopefully the kindle paperwhite goes on sale, i missed out on the last one and really want one but not paying 150 dollars for it..

I bought an echo input for the home theater for $15. It can control the lighting without emitting light of its own. My current echo dot’s ring light lights up my blacked out theater every time it hears noise (which is all the time in a movie)

Yes, that and Amazon branded things.

Holy Schnikes! 80 bucks. I paid $1300 for 32" Samsung 720p LCD back in 07. Amazing the reduction in price overtime.

Yes, that's how sales work.

I'm watching for the kids Kindle fire for my rugrat. Hoping to get a deal on the 10" one

There are a few ways to fix that. Electrical tape is one option, or black felt. Although $15 is not bad.

I never really find any "fantastic" deals on anything.

They go on sale every other month. I ended up paying $40 for mine. I got last gen's version because it's supposedly better than the newest one, from Amazon Warehouse (new with damaged packaging), and then 20% off because I paid with my amex.

I got a Sonicare Toothbrush for 1/2 off (99 vs 199)
It's currently onsale for 169 and it hits 99 every now and then, but I think 99 is a pretty good price for an item that will last me several years.

Personally looking for a gsync monitor. Not expecting anything, really, but the compatible freesync monitors should be worth watching, too

Honest question only because I was looking at these a few months ago...what does that one do significantly better than this one?

Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4100 Eletric Rechargeable Toothbrush, Plaque Control, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078GVMVRH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SxbkDb9EKRHMP

Seems like an excellent value for a brush that will clean at least 95-97% as well as anything out there.

The 4100 will do almost everything the other one will. All you really want is the 2 minute timer (it buzzes every 30 seconds), and MAYBE you want the brush head replacement reminder. I go by the bristles changing/losing their color. Some of the better models let you know if you're pressing too hard on your teeth, but thats about it. I went with the Series 2 model, it was recommended over the 4100, I think I paid $40.

If I had to guess, I'd say a few more brush modes, but I"m not sure. Truth be told, this one is missing the mode I like best on my old model, which is refresh mode. It does 15 seconds x 4 instead of 30x4. I like that, because then I just run it 1 for the bottoms and 1 for the top, but apparently it's been removed from more recent models.

SOme of them have some sort of smart wi-fi feature, but this one doesn't and I have no idea why I'd want that.

So bottom line is if you like what you have, then stick with it. I'm sure this one will last me several years, but honestly I might go for a cheaper model going forward, since they've removed the mode that I like best.

Last year they had some pretty dope deals on wireless tools and batteries. I got a few 5 amp Milwaukee and Makita batteries for less than $70 a piece. I'll be looking again as I could always use another grinder, impact or sawzall.

Just picked up a heck of dewalt kit with all sorts of stuff for $200ish shipped after tax, hoping for some DeWalt stuff to go on sale. maybe a 6ah or 9ah battery.

The Amazon Warehouse Deals 20% discount is pretty good so far (https://www.amazon.com/s?bbn=16931836011&rh=n:16931836011). Usually they have a lot of marked up or unpopular stuff when they run this deal, but so far have found a few good deals.

Think I can finally put the Hyper 212 EVO to rest after what seems like a decade with a MSI Cooling Core Frozr XL ($55 with discount).

Hopefully it lasts me as long :).

That's a pretty neat cooler. I had no idea they still made newer coolers for lga775. (y)

I found some decent deals myself, the time finally came to update my badly aging network. Picked up an Asus RT-AC86U for $118 and a three pack of Lyras for $130 to use as AiMesh nodes. Moving soon into a two-story home w/ a basement, hoping this combo will be sufficient to achieve a solid wifi signal on all three floors.
