An alleged leak of Intel Comet Lake comes courtesy of ComputerBase, and if it is to be believed, shows an array of 13 different chips, with the flagship 10C/20T flagship weighing in with a maximum single-core boost clock of 5.2GHz and all-core boost of 4.6GHz. Featuring 20MB of Intel Smart Cache, a 105W TDP, and $499. The Core i7-10700K an 8C/16T chip with 5.1GHz single-core boost and 4.8GHz all-core boost, with a 65W TDP and integrated graphics for $398.

New LGA 1159 socket with new Z490 motherboards, and supports DDR4-3200 natively.

Recommend taking with a grain of salt until confirm/denial from Intel.

I know this is beating a dead horse, but Z370/Z390 seems like it got nothing from the '9th gen/refresh', and it's a new board socket again from Intel, just like Haswell and Sky/Kaby. At least Sandy Bridge to Ivy got some gains from it.

Also, they should have leaked this on 7/6 to give pause to potential Zen2 adopters.

Unless these are releasing within the next couple months I'm calling bullshit on this leak. There is zero chance Intel has a full lineup with all that shit ready to go 6+ months from launch. Remember all the Zen 2 "leaks" from last year? Yeah, keep that in mind when looking at this.

Edit: And confirmed fake. The original sourced said they got it from 5ch.

Is intel still using the 14nm process? i thought they were finally pushing out 10mn chips now?
There is a ton wrong with that graphic. The prices is a dead give away......they aren't going to release a 10c/20t chip for 500 bucks more like 1500.

Keep in mind it is in their interest to muddy the waters as much as possible right now, to get people to delay or outright cancel their Ryzen plans.

I'd take it with a truckload of salt until we have firm availability and tests.

odditory needs to lock this thread as to not perpetuate fake news.

He won't...Intel fan trying to sour a successful Zen2 launch. Nothing to see here.

I mean last time I checked, Intel hasn't even gotten their Coffee Lake Refreshed Refresh out the door with their new stepping let alone have a brand new chip and socket ready anytime before 2020.

65w 8 and 10 core chips? What a load of bullshit. I think intel has found that you can lie about TDP straight up off base clock and then double the power on the back end and all set, no one will notice. HAHA

Every site is running with this now so it's worth giving Intel 24hrs to respond/deny.

I knew I should have quoted the original un-ninja-edited version.

The 4 core i3 has a 91w TPD but the i9 10 core part has a 65w TPD, this seems totally legit

Even if this was legit. Intel does this shady shit where put the tdp 65w at base clock to confuse average Joe but in reality you never see the base clock because its booting way higher and actual tdp can be double for that particular chip. But I think this is fake though because I don't think Intel does +++ on labeling and the $ signs are at the end.

off topic, but I got DM grouped by Juanrga, what is the deal, why me and why doesn't he just comment on the topics. I am sure this thread could have used his expert opinion

I don't think the average joe even knows what TDP is. I'm not even sure if the average computer builder really understands it.

REASONS I THINK IT IS FAKE: (other than because I know it is fake)

  • new socket marginally plausible but still calling BS
  • TDP ratings lower thread counts have higher TDP?
  • Turbo frequency apparently less cores turbos less than more cores, this is reverse for intel and all their K's have more or less the same max turbo
  • price has the dollar sign at the end, this is intel an american company and nobody in america puts the dollar sign at the end.
  • Price is not right.....sorry bad joke but Intel giving you 10 cores for the price of their current mainstream is completely unbelievable, intel don't cheap out even when AMD is competitive or better.

Not that the bundled cooler that OEMs use will be able to handle any sort of boost with the power that these new processors will pull

Intel has offices all over the world. Origin of the slide could be one of their foreign offices in a country where they place currency symbol after amount. One possible explanation.

Fake but cause the names are dumb as shit

I couldn't agree more. I doubt Intel's marketing team would go with a model numbering scheme like: "10900KF". I also do not think Intel is going to be able to get that many cores in a mainstream CPU like that at 14nm. The existing Core i9 9900K's run extremely hot as it is. Basically adding two additional cores and raising the clocks seems unlikely.

Let's say for the sake of argument that they did it. AMD would still lead in productivity benchmarks where they have 12c/24t and a 16c/32t part on the way. Intel's retained their gaming lead for now. Such a product really doesn't make sense to me. That's not to say they won't release something, as Intel's done knee jerk sort of releases quickly to see what stick. They did this right after the original Ryzen launched. We saw a slew of parts for all markets. Including that god awful Core i7 7740X.
