I'm curious what everyone decided to go with for their Ryzen 3000 setups.

I ended up going with:

3900x
ASUS ROG Strix x570-E Gaming
Hyper X Predator Black 2x16GB 3600MHz CL17
Corsair Force MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVME SSD (OS/Applications)
Micron 5100 4TB SATA 6 SSD (Games/data)
EVGA 750 G3 PSU
Corsair Hydro H115i AIO Cooler w/ 2x140mm fans

I'm recycling my Corsair Carbide case and 1080Ti

Current setup will go into my old Antec 900 case paired up with a Vega 56 GPU (have already made this change)

3900x
ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming
Ballistix Sport LT 2x16GB 3200MHZ CL16 (BLS2K16G4D32AESE)
EVGA GTX 1080Ti Founders Edition 11GB
Noctua NH-D15 CPU COoler
Fractal Design Define S

Im very pleased to know one day i could possibly pick up a 24/32 thread cpu on discount and just drop it right into my current board.:) Its not like my 2700x is really holding me back even in gaming since i dont own a 1200 dollar gpu. I'll pick up the 3900x sooner than latter but im not in a hurry just yet

Whole new machine

3900x
Gigabyte AORUS B450 pro wifi
4x16gb Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3200mhz (have two kits and no intentions for the second one, so I might as well give it a shot)
Gigabyte RX 5700 XT
512gb Micron Nvme ssd
120gb Crucial BX500 ssd
2tb Crucial MX500 ssd
Corsair 270r
Corsair TX750 v2

3900x
ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming
Ballistix Sport LT 2x16GB 3200MHZ CL16 (BLS2K16G4D32AESE)
EVGA GTX 1080Ti Founders Edition 11GB
Noctua NH-D15 CPU COoler
Fractal Design Define S

What are you getting for temps on that 3900X

I set out to do a "simple" upgrade from my existing 4790K system, but I got the upgrade bug and ended up ordering the following:

3900X
MSI X570 MEG ACE
32GB 3600MHz DDR4 (2x16 G.Skill Sniper X with terrible timings)
Sabrent Rocket 2TB NVME SSD (PCIE 3.0)
Zotac RTX 2080 Ti Amp Extreme Core (got this for $1049 shipped new, which seemed worth it over an EVGA black edition that was only going to be like 20 bucks cheaper)

Reusing the following parts:

CaseLabs Bullet BH8
Noctua NH-D14
EVGA 1000G2
Dell S2716DG

Impatiently waiting for the parts to arrive now. :)

I feel you there. I'm getting everything but the CPU delivered tomorrow with my 3900x coming on Wednesday. The good part is I can have the build nearly completed tomorrow and since I won't have a CPU yet, I can take my time with the cable management instead of being anxious to finish up and haphazardly route my wires. I just hope it all boots up properly and I don't end up having to go back and disassemble anything.

For now, all the stuff in my sig will remain except swapping the 7820X and X299 mobo for:
3900X
MSI X570 MEG ACE

Curious how my Corsair ram will clock on the X570, was able to hit as high as 4100mhz on the X299 with it (got best performance at 3800 though).

Best speed from what I’ve read for Ryzen 3000 is going to be 3733

Won't know until the parts arrive. CPU and motherboard should be here on Wednesday. I ordered the RAM first via Amazon but wasn't in a hurry since I thought the CPU/MB procurement would take longer. I'll probably reuse my 2x8GB G.Skill Flare X DDR4 3200 from my Ryzen 7-1700 system until it arrives.

I'm about to own a 3600 + MSI x570 mpg gaming plus. Anyone heard anything about the chipset fan noise ?

you'll probably be able to hit 4100mhz but you'll want 3733-3800 with tighter timings to keep a 1:1 ratio on the Fclock. if you go above 3800 it'll automatically drop the Fclock to 1:2 ratio and kiss all your performance goodbye.

as long as the board has zero fan noise option then no noise.. from what i've seen no one has actually been able to create enough load on these boards to get the fan to turn on. it seems the fan is just there as a fail safe vs actually needing to be used to keep the chipset cool.

R9 3900X
MSI Gaming Edge WiFi
16GBx2 KINGSTON HyperX PREDATOR PC3200
960 GB Corsair 960GB MP510
1 TB Samsung 850 QVO SSD
CORSAIR 650W CX650M (80+ BRONZE)
Corsair Carbide 275R Tempered Glass Mid-Tower White

And a 5700XT when there are non-blower, un-gimped cards available.

Brand new rig...

ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact mDTX motherboard
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X CPU
Fractal Design Celsius S24 240mm AIO CPU cooler
64GB DDR4 RAM (2@32GB DIMMS, 2666/19, Samsung M-die?)
Two 1TB Sabrent Rocket Gen4 x4 M.2 NVMe SSDs (boot RAID)
AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition GPU
Corsair SF750 PSU (750W, Platinum rated)
Cerberus mATX chassis
Four Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM fans
One Noctua NF-A9 PWM fan

The chassis, psu, & fans are here; all other parts, excepting the motherboard, are on the way & should be here before the end of the week; okay, maybe the CPU & GPU from AMD arrive sometime next week...?

The motherboard is waiting on ASUS to get it in gear, hopefully within the month...?

The 50th Anniversary Edition will most likely be turned around back to AMD for a refund, and I will wait (since I have to for the mobo already) for Sapphire to drop their liquid-cooled Toxic variant...!

As for the RAM, it was 310 bucks 'Merikan delivered, another 38 bucks for a set of black EKWB heat spreaders (gotta cover those So Last Century green PCBs)...

Same RAM Buildzoid got to 3600/17, so I will be happy for a stable 3200/14...?

Exciting...!!!

New parts going into my old build. Replacing a 6700k and a Maximus VIII Hero

3900x
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master
G Skill Trident Z 3600 CL15 B-die, 16gb (8x2)
Kraken X62 AIO

Keeping the rest of my parts, Carbide 540, MSI Gaming X 1080Ti, drives, etc. My trusty 6700k, Maximus VIII Hero, ram and Kraken X60 is moving to a new case to become the family computer.

MSI Meg Ace X570
Ryzen 3600 (Short Term Solution)
48GB of GSKiLL Trident Z 14-14-14-35 3200 RAM
EVGA GTX 1070 FTW3
1 TB 970 EVO NVME
1 TB Crucial P1 NVME
750GB MX300 SSD
250GB Crucial M500

i know $200 CPU in a $350 MB. Its a short term solution since the 3900x sold out so quickly, I plan to move that CPU over to my moms setup and upgrade her from the 1600 she has currently. Then take that CPU and use it for a plex box. For now I need a CPU so I would have a system as my current 2700x is going to a grad gift to my cousins kid this weekend.

Crucial P1 1TB NVME
EVGA supernova 650
Noctua D-15S

I'm not so sure you'll see that. If the core speed goes down from 3.8Ghz to 3.5Ghz and it's harder to overclock -- it may not be a natural upgrade from the 3900x.
I can’t wait to pick up a cheap 3900x once the 3950x drops.

3700x
ASROCK Phantom Gaming 4 x570
16gb (8x2) ddr4-3000 Team T-force Delta R RGB memory (white)
Zotac 1070Ti Mini
Samsung NVME 250gb (forget the model, its nothing special)
Samsung 850 EVO 250gb sata SSD
and a 2tb WD black for storage
All packed neatly in a Lian Li pc-011 dynamic, white, with UPHERE RGB fans, Lian Li STRIMER RGB 24 pin power cable, Corsair hx850 PSU.

SO happy with this system. With the previous 1700x I was having a lot of issues in gaming, specifically with PUBG. With this new 3700x I'm having MAJOR performance benefits in gaming, and all other stuff I do. I livestream to twitch which puts a bit of load on the CPU (nvenc encoding, so most of the work is on the GPU) and this has made my FPS much smoother.

I've tried my hand at overclocking but it seems this CPU isn't very easy to overclock. Probably going to just leave PBO on and let it do its thing. Seems like trying to push all core boosts of above 4275 are not even possible with my chip, so it's not really worth it to sacrifice the single core boosts of up to 4.4ghz. Overall with PBO unlocked, with 4600 set as the max boost, I still haven't seen anything above 4375 mhz, and only on 2 specific cores have I seen that speed. Never seen 4.4, but I suppose it's close enough. My all core boosts in gaming are generally between 4175 and 4275 which is about the same as what my only successful OC was.

I've also looked at some scores for the 3800x, and it seems like there is almost no benefits to getting that chip over a 3700x.... scores seem to be very much the same across the board...

How many people here jumped from a 2700x to a 3700x or yet a 3900x and shiny new x570 that cost more than the 2700x?

Oh it’ll happen. I’m thinking the 3950x will be a worthy upgrade my from my 2700x tho lol :)

Budget build for me. Complete rebuild as I moving from full size ATX tower to a mini ITX. Only my 1070ti is a carry over :) and a SSD drive. Looking forward as I have not had a new build in quite a while. So it should be a fun build.

thought everyone got away from ocz power supply's long time ago lol

So got my 3900X running late last night. Anyone have any idea why when booting into windows, it is immediately locks into 3.8Ghz and 1.1v after a few moments.? Even if I set it to something different in bios. PBO is enabled, tried different voltage and settings. When I installed Ryzen Master it showed the core set to 3.8 instead of 4.6 like I would expect at boot. Weird.

Anyway, with voltage set to 1.325v. Using PBO, clocks seem to be settle at 4.1-4.2Ghz on all core workloads, like Cinebench R20. Single core is 4.4-4.5.

However manually setting to 4.4Ghz has not crashed yet with a short OCCT test and R20 runs and sure is faster that my PBO test.

Doesnt sound like anything to worry about.....its just power savings of some type until its needed and is doing as designed

I said I reused it from my previous machine, which I didn't mention was built in 2012/2013 era.

Just depends on which OEM that OCZ sourced the particular unit from and the build standard they used. Same for any of the rebranders really.
Exactly, I did my research at the time and it reviewed well: https://www.hardocp.com/article/2009/10/08/ocz_z_series_z850m_850w_power_supply_review/9
