Making a terrible product that is less competitive than its predecessor absolutely contributed to their near-bankruptcy experience.

That's like saying 1 bad menu item out of hundreds at a restaurant contributed to the restaurant almost going out of business. If 1 product makes or breaks a company, specially one that has been around as long as AMD, it's not the failed product that is the cause, it just doesn't contribute to digging them out.

How absurd do you want to go?

That was their CPU architecture for years. That was it. It's an icecream shop and all of their icecream has been made out of spoiled milk.

Agreed. It wasn't just 1 SKU among thousands.

From 2006 to 2011 had increasingly subpar products across their entire lineup.
From 2011 to 2016 They didn't have a single CPU that was even remotely competitive in any market they played in.

During this period of time even most fanboys couldn't justify buying their CPU's anymore.

With a few notable exceptions, they didn't do much better in GPU's over those years either.

I for one didn't think we'd see them survive. I am very pleased with Zen and how it has brought them back from the brink.

It's not over yet though. Once Intel gets their process back on track, they are going to have to really execute perfectly to remain relevant.

So, it's the spoiled milks fault that they continued to sell ice cream made from spoiled milk? You can't place the blame on a single failure that they continued to push. That is poor business decisions, nothing more. Basically, AMD put all their eggs in a single basket, the basket failed, and you want to some how blame the basket for AMD's decision to place all their eggs into that basket. This is all irrelevant and way off topic, and really has nothing to do with Ryzen 2. It's not even in the scope of my original question.

See, here's the problem. You look at Bulldozer's failure as a bad thing, and don't see any other way to see it. I look at Bulldozer's failure as a good thing because it lead AMD to the creation of Ryzen.

anyhow, I haven't slept in over 30 hours. I am done.. I need sleep.
