Making a terrible product that is less competitive than its predecessor absolutely contributed to their near-bankruptcy experience.
That's like saying 1 bad menu item out of hundreds at a restaurant contributed to the restaurant almost going out of business. If 1 product makes or breaks a company, specially one that has been around as long as AMD, it's not the failed product that is the cause, it just doesn't contribute to digging them out.
