Nvidia SUPER Refresh: Faster 2060, 2070, 2080, Faster GDDR6 and $100 Off

You would be correct and wrong. This is everything to do with amd. It's also to do with nvidia being
so greedy, that they thought that they could just sell their cards for whatever in the hell they wanted
too, and people would just pay it. But, that wound up biting them in the ass. So, instead of just admitting
that they were wrong and change the price. They are now just trying to be slick about it. They want to act
like their updating the cards at a cheaper price, just so they don't have to admit to how bad they tried to
screw the customers over. Now that the amd benchmarks have come out, showing the benchmarks
and knowing the price point of what amd sells their cards for. Yeah, amd has them bitches doing jumping
jacks now. SCREW NVIDIA AND INTEL. Shit, as a matter of fact. Amd has both them bitches doing jumping jacks now.
I want to say something but just can't come up with words. This is apparently what happens to people when they are continuously and factually treated as inferior human being. The venom that AMD supporters spout off year after year is just scary. It's like there is not an ounce of humility at all.

As someone who had the entire original first Star Wars film on betamax I call bullshit

At the start of the BTM/VHS format war the max recording time was 60 minutes at BI (highest quality) speed. The war was largely over once the longer tapes became available, but even those could only hit 100 minutes at BI.

Then there was also the cost of the cassettes themselves being a lot higher than VHS.

I asked for the source because they seemed like outlandish rumors...

Tracing it back, I find it is really WCCFT that simply took one rumor that could be somewhat believable, and combined it with some price cut they heard from an unknown/unmentioned source to push it into the realm of wishful thinking, where not only does NVidia release faster cards, it knocks $100 off all the faster cards as well.

If NVidia release faster Ti/Super versions of the 2060 and 2070, 2080, then if there are any price cuts, they would likely be on the OLDER slower version, not the new ones, and they wouldn't be $100 across the board, putting the 2060 below the price of the 1660.

Even if there was something to the original Tweaktown rumor, this combined rumor created by WCCFT is BS.

Quoting myself as early on I stated, we wouldn't get improved cards and a price cut on them, now WCCF is reporting prices for Super cards will be Founder pricing for 2080 and 2070 and $70 price increase on 2060:

https://wccftech.com/nvidia-rtx-super-graphics-cards-msrp-leaked/

RTX 2080 SUPER $799 MSRP,
RTX 2070 SUPER $599 MSRP
RTX 2060 SUPER for $429 MSRP

In contrast with first rumors, these (sadly) actually seem realistic. 2060 is most improved and I kind of expected a price increase there.

If these are the prices for AIB models as well, then AMD has little to fear. Wiht 5700XT Undercutting 2070 by $150. 2060 pricing is still close, so we will have to see reviews to see how much faster (if any) 5700 Pro is over 2060.

I feared this as well. Makes much more sense wit h nvidia. Sucks nothing changed in the $250-300 range. But makes sense with AMDs offerings.

Although I have a hard time seeing how amd undercut the 2070 by $150? Msrp is a moot point at this point. Especially with a new card launching at that price. I can get a 2070 right now on Amazon right now. What matters now is current pricing.

I was just talking Super cards. So undercut 2070 Super, not the current version.

Nvidia is not cutting the prices, they think they own the market and could care less if you dont like it. Also AMD doesnt mind the pricing as long as they sell everything they make so neither is interested in a price war, just a war of words.

5700XT won't be undercutting anything. 2070 non-super will be cheaper than 5700XT and beat it at 99% of games. 5700XT is not in 2070 Super's league.

And you won't be able to get 5700XT at MSRP thanks to scalpers and retail gouging for fanboys willing to overpay.

...I guess those early adopters are going to have a field day when these things launch...then again they might start selling their non-supers to fund more Supers for the future :)

Funny how you already know this....
Read what I was replying to. We're taking statements on a rumor site at face value for the sake of entertaining discussion. Nobody knows anything until official announcements.

Which rumor said "2070 non-super will be cheaper than 5700XT and beat it at 99% of games"

Because I think it is your performance claim they were addressing.

According to AMD, 5700XT would be ahead in the majority of game, and until that gets 3rd party tested/reviewed, that is the best info we have.

Let's back up here. Your very first statement was "Wiht 5700XT Undercutting 2070 by $150. " You were referring to 2070 Super, yes? It'll be a rebadged 2080 and thus the 5700XT isn't in the same league, so I wasn't sure why you think its undercutting a chip it won't keep up with.

And there's the problem -- according to AMD. I suspect 5700XT and 2070 Regular will be neck-and-neck in independent benchmarks. And 2070 Regular will continue to be ready available far cheaper than 5700XT MSRP.

Well that is quite a shift in goalposts. You specifically said the regular 2070 would beat the 5700XT in 99% of games, now you claim, neck-and-neck.

It was the 99% win for 2070 that drew the comments.

I realize now after looking at AMDs 5700XT benchmarks that it was said in haste. I shouldn't have said 2070 beats it in 99% of games. However I suspect it'll beat it in a good number of them when benchmarked independently.

However I'm still not sure what the value proposition to the 5700XT will be once the 2070 Regular gets a price drop, given they're so close in performance - and I have to believe the 2070 has more OC headroom and thus will beat 5700XT when both cards are run maxed out.

Shhh, do you hear that?

Its the sound of Nvidia sucking the dollar bills from your wallet.

How rich to do these companies need to be in order to be valid? I don't think Nvidia has anything in the pipe line as far as next gen cards so doing a refresh with faster memory only makes sense. The CPU market has been in a standstill since like 2011 pretty soon the GPU market will be the same way.

Big corps want all the money ever and if they get that they'll still want more.

Still a SUPER pass for me.

Nah, got our moneys worth by now. I'm fine until the 3000 whatever series shows up.

This was their plan from the beginning and we knew it. They jacked up the cost of all their high end shit to ridiculous levels which now makes these prices seem normal in comparison.
I know it's weak man. And we're basically over it. What can you do except not buy. But things aren't going backwards. Only thing that could really change things would be super competition (no pun intended) from AMD and an ensuing price war. But I'd be surprised even then if some sort of price fixing wasn't involved.

And it isn't like we can expect Intel to bring a new GPU to market and place it price/performance wise halfway down from AMD and nVidia... no they will jack their price up too. They will find the price/performance number for AMD's current stuff, tack on 20% and call it good. The competition will hopefully help a little bit, but I think it's wishful thinking that a strong GPU will ever be below $500 again...

That's exactly what I'm doing. Not buying... I can "suffer" without a 4k monitor just to avoid paying a $500 RTX tax over the previous gen. I'm hoping Intel is successful with their video card. 3 players is better than 2 in keeping pricing down for the consumer.

Also, RTX 2070's aren't sub $450 yet, so there's that going for the 5700XT. Sure you can get a low end one with a coupon and a rebate down around $450, but most of the mid-range versions with decent cooling are $500+ still. Sounds like the "Super" version is going to be $599.

Prices won't go down that far. Even if all three can compete on an even level across all segments (they won't) prices are not going to go back down to previous levels. Whoever is in charge will jack up prices and the other companies will react to that. AMD and Nvidia have both done this over the years and there is no way Intel will do any different.

Agree with this, and this is probably why Nvidia is pushing ray tracing to increase the GPU load of future games.
Am hoping game streaming such as google stadia and Nvidia Now actually improve so we won't have to spend $500 for mid-range performance

It will get to the point where the market won't bear a price increase. Look at consoles. I'm sure Sony and Microsoft would love to sell their consoles at $700 but they know that the market won't bear that price. I think you're seeing that already with the lack of sales of RTX cards over previous generations.

Don’t worry, bitcoin is shooting up again, soon finding a graphics card will not be a concern for gamers - there will be none available. BwuahahhahahhahaHAHAHAHAHAHH

I agree in general RT was added to avoid the market getting stagnant. nVidia still has yet to move to 7nm. Not sure how feasible it is for them to brute force past their girthy 754mm^2 current chip with a node change alone.

What are you talking about?

We're talking about video cards here.

Works great and is the standard going forward.

Well, someone is triggered enough to start whining off topic :ROFLMAO:

lol haha

I agree with all 3 statements you made Idiotincharge, though there are times that I feel RTX is useless, it would appear that I have been wrong because all these new Indie and AAA titles coming out are announcing full support so I think, yes, I now agree that RTX cores are worth it.

LOL you think those companies are your friends? youll be paying $500 a YEAR by the time they are through with you. the ultimate DRM- where the games arent even installed.
