My initial reaction was that EA is going to shut this down quickly, but after reading the article I kind of doubt it. It's a mod to a nearly 15 year old game that appeals to a pretty niche audience. This is drastically different than if they were trying to recreate the canceled Battlefront 3 as a standalone, modern game in UE4 or something. This isn't really a threat to EA or any of there current or future projects.
