Figured i would start a thread on this case. This is one that i have been waiting for. The Enthoo Elite was such an expensive case and this one seems to be built on the same base chassis with all new external aesthetics as well as a newly designed interior. This case was shown off at CES and is set to be released around Computex with the pricetag being in the 180-220 range.

This case supports up to EEB form factors as well as dual system/power supplies.

Looks like the only changes are they arent going to use the mesh fabric and they have stated it will not come with any fans. Staying at the $189 price point and is available in August.

I've been looking for the case for my next system which I expect to watercool at least the CPU, and this is ticking a lot of happy boxes (and one sad one: No 5.25"). I saw a couple of videos that mentioned 140mm fan support, but I guess those are in error? There aren't any official stats listed yet. Was really hoping to use a 420 rad, but I guess I could make do with a 480 instead... And that distro plate is a very interesting idea.

I think the back fan by the IO plate is 140 but the rest are 120mm.

They will be doing the same thing they did with the Enthoo Elite for 5.25.

I saw that cage on the Elite, but thought it was just token 3.5" storage because of the window being in the way. Kind of an interesting way around getting all those fans up front. If that can fit in with a radiator, that would be nice, and I could live with opening the door to use the drive. I create DVD/BD media for friends, but it doesn't come up often enough that that action would be trouble (and I suppose I could always just move the drive to the file server and network save the finished product).

Would be funny if auto-opening the drive tray breaks it or damages the window.

??

You sure you're not confusing that with a 5.25" bay? I wasn't aware there were any 3.5" optical drives what with the physical size of the media...

It is a 5.25" bay. The original photos I had seen lacked any (obvious) context as to the size of the cage, and I hadn't seen it in any of the build shots, and with a side window in play, I figured it was 3.5" for hard drives. German Muscle enlightened me in that it is for 5.25" external things, despite no cutout in the side window (hence the joke).

OT: there were in fact optical 3.5" drives, the old Magneto Optical cartridge drives come to mind, MiniDisc had a couple internal drives...

lol disregard my entire post, I actually completely missed the text portion of GM's post and just looked at the pictures. I was confused thinking that you were confused

The original Luxe does have the removable 5.25 cage and it works with my radiator in place; the Pro M also had the removable cage but my radiator wouldn't fit with it installed.

The current (4-6 years old) line of cases do have the traditional 5.25" setup, but reviews were less than enthused about their overall cooling performance. The new "wall o' fans, no front drives" trend is really paying off with great cooling, and the H700 I have is doing really well to prove that to me. Should I get this, I'll be really happy if I can get that big radiator in there with the cage attached. (The giant dust problem at my house from 2 energetic dogs and a just expanded local gravel pit leads me to want to minimize top openings, even for exhaust-I don't have A/C, it's windows open all summer).

Finally!

And it supports 140mm fans! Plus dust filters everywhere...mmm.

Only $190, which is surprising considering how much is included, I was expecting around $250. The ODD bay is sold separately, but I can dig it.

I think I'll pick this baby up once it makes it to retail to put my next system in. Now I just need Noctua to finish up developing that sweet A14x25 fan.

yeah i was hoping the ITX thing would be bundled so i can mount a card in the bottom(not for ITX) but ill probably just 3d print a 4 slot panel and go that route.

I have the weirdest boner right now.

I see it's for sale in Germany, but still not available in the US, yet. Get it out there, Phanteks!

I am trying to decide between this and the Loan Li 011 Dynamic XL coming out later this months for custom ws loop myself atm.

i like the PC011D and XL but its probably one of the most done cases out there. I waited for this one since January of this year. It replaced my Corsair 700D. So far i like it. I have my system up and running in it and now im really unhappy because i have to order custom loop parts to fill it out. The cable management makes me feel like im cheating. I had one issue last night with the fan controller that comes with the case that i need to troubleshoot and see whats up since no fans were working. Only other issue i have is i cannot put any fans on the top in between the inner chassis and the out covering making push/pull for that spot rather intrusive into the case.
