Cyberpunk 2077 — Official E3 2019 Cinematic Trailer

Must say it looks gritty, I can handle a graphics downgrade if the game play is like this trailer.

Well that video is all console. So I expect a graphics downgrade compared to PC.

Was I the only one who thought the trailer looked a bit juvenile and my interest level waned a bit on this title after the trailer???

My biggest issue is tamping down my expectations. This seems so awesome, I don't know if it can really live up to the combination of what they are presenting and what I am imagining.

A bit disappointed by the release date, thinking it would be closer to late Q3 or Q4 2019, but if its equal or better as The Witcher 3, it will be worth it.

Honestly though if it means they aren't being slave drivers and working people 130 hours a week to "crunch" and finish the game I'm fine with putting off the launch a few months.

I hate to disagree vehemently because while I do believe the developers at CDPR are sweet and truly lovely people, consider that the Pyramids in Egypt, the local Amazon Fulfillment Center, or any of the world wonders -- none of that shit got built by giving workers afternoons off for pony rides and candy.

If we awaken to news one morning that CDPR employees are worked 20 hours a day, 7 days a week and sleep under their desks with shock collars on a timer, I will weep for them, but not too long because immediately I will rejoice that I'll be sitting in my underwear and socks, surrounded by Oreos stacked like poker chips and playing Cyberpunk 2077 that much sooner. Maybe even weeks sooner.

Except for the fact that the crunch conditions do nothing but cause a shitton of screwups because people don't work worth a damn under those conditions. More mistakes than usual are made and then those mistakes (if they're even caught in time) have to be fixed by overworked people causing even more mistakes and so on. Crunch conditions are an indication of only two things, desperation and piss poor planning.

Collectors edition stuff:

Already sold out at some of my local retailers, which is ridiculous considering the price ($300 USD) and the fact that people have already forgotten just how badly CDPR botched the Witcher 3 CE statue. Honestly for that amount of money fans would be better off paying extra for a SideShow collectible version.

Years ago i had high hopes for open world games as we was playing stupid little maps in most games, now that it is here i cant really get myself to try one.
I have a intense dislike for all the battle royale games too, though i have never played any of them as much as 1 seconds, it just seem to off-putting for me.
Another thing i have waited for a long long time are random generated ( smallish ) maps in multiplayer games, but now i fear that if that ever get here i will not like that either, or most likely i will be worm food long before that happen.

What's wrong with open world games?

Yeah i don't really get it, in the old days the idea of a much larger map supporting more players, and also not knowing every Sq CM of the map sounded so cool.
I have a sneaky feeling that now it is due to the new multiplayer formats like battle royale i cant warp my old head around, really i seem stuck at TDM or CTF game modes, where CTF have always been the mode i liked the most.
Of course other factors like a progression tree in multiplayer unlocking more skills and weapons are a turn off for me, and not forgetting in game buys of some shi,,,,, stuff.
Really anything more than a rocket jump and my mind start to go into a infinite loop, so jet packs and ninja running on walls ASO just on the face of it turn me off.
Also pressing some button to run ???? i want to tag a always run option in the menu and be done with it, and i don't want to run out of breath or have a low health bar also meaning i move slow.
I was able to deal with non realistic weapons when i played a lot, and the realism game of the day ( CS ) never did much for me due to the map issue ( same maps ) and not least the having to buy stuff and wait for the game to end if you got killed early on.

Really i just want to spawn and find weapons on the map, and then run and gun with fun for XX minutes.

But i think with my new GFX card i will get soon maybe i get some games i can try, or i will have to go "F" it and just take a chance and buy some game that don't look like it have too many of what i imagine to be bad things and see what happen.

It sounds to me like you should drop gaming as it never really was your thing...

O it was. i played like 6 - 8 hours every day after work for a few years and slept even less every day,and i was in top 50 ranking worldwide most of the time, but that is also close to a half a lifetime ago ( no it was not pong or on the Amiga 500 )
No doubt age also have a say, and while i do think i am open minded, maybe not with all things when it come down to it.

PS. the game i played the most and really started my gaming multiplayer was Soldier of Fortune, as i recall based on the quake 2 engine

PPS. As you age your perception if time and other things get weird, it was of course not 26 years ago i played soldier of fortune, but 26 X 2 + some are my age, and things just start to act weird and be relative at this age,,,, at least for me it do.

I don't think i will ever frag that hard again, though i now am on early retirement / pension and so could theoretically frag for +12 Hours a day.

I don’t care for most new games...the gameplay is boring.
But this game has my interest...because of how awesome a game the witcher 3 is.

hehe yeah, maybe i can get more of a life in this game than i have IRL, really i don't do much outside of a few things of which 2 are on the computer.
Judging bu the long in game video from a while back, there seem to be the possibility of much diking around at least in this game, and at least summer is coming and that tend to magically make my attitude a bit more positive.

But but but muhhhhhhhh pre-order!
Ja, pretty sad that this is the #1 selling game on Steam right now. I thought the PC community was supposed to be adamant about not preordering games, and this one doesn't come out for another 10 months! It's not like they're going to run out of digital copies.

only the enthusiast communities talk about not pre-ordering, the rest of the masses just throw their wallets at their monitors every time a game goes up for pre-order no matter how shit or how good it is..

but to be fair who knows how the algorithm is setup for that, because the game below it is borderlands handsome jack collection and the one below that is divinity original sin 2.. so there really isn't a whole lot of competition, lol.

The thing is that I think not just as people who play games, but also people in general... CD Project Red has created a hell of a lot of good faith with the gaming community and people WANT to support them.

I personally dislike the people more who try to get others to not preorder than the people who actually preorder because people should be able to do whatever they want with their money. Pre-ordering has been a thing since there were videogame stores, so the fact that people continue to do so should not be surprising. I pre-order games I am REALLY excited about and ones I know I will get anyway at launch... Doom Eternal, Cyberpunk, Death Stranding, Last of Us 2.... there are a bunch of games I know I will preorder. It has nothing to do with quantity available at launch like it was in the past, but just being able to play it immediately.

So I say if you don't like pre-ordering then don't, but don't try to evangelize people into not doing it b/c you literally will never change anyone's mind and is a waste of time.

Yep, this is the only thing I would ever consider a pre-order on, and it's only because I have tons of respect for CDPR, not because I gotta have it ASAP.

You should read up on what CDPR said about that and how they will do stuff in the future before stuffing your foot further into your mouth ;)

Just saying, but before you back a horse, you might want to wait and see if he shows up for the race.

I'm not saying that the game isn't going to show. Just that I trust past performance more than promises of a better future. Once you screw me, you gotta start kissing me first.

Yeah take it easy.
I don't think i have ever preordered anything, but in my voluntary work i do some times get my hands on beta or very early sample hardware,,,,,, sadly not expensive computer hardware, still that calm my early access needs.
In past years i have often build new computers with pretty darn new hardware, but still store bought hardware, and i am happy to say the problems some early adopters some times have i have never seen myself.

I have just gotten a new camera, which i got here in Denmark a day or 2 before the official launch,,,, so that was nice, but i would never have preordered that camera, even called the store to make sure their web page was not in error before i placed my order.

Also, according to the Easter Egg from CDPR, preorder numbers actually have a significant impact on their ability to distribute the game. So not preordering certainly will impact their bottom-line far more than just 1 early sales lost.

Considering how much good faith CDPR has built up over the years, preordering on GoG isn't the worst idea.
