Hot Error? 8tb (4x2tb) for $144 shipped from B&H

I was looking for something else and ran across something that looks like an error, but may still go through:

This is supposed to be a bulk pack of 4x 2TB drives for the Promise Vess R2000 NAS. Now, this 4-pack is usually almost $1000 or more, but B&H has it for just $144.

The drives should be easily removable from the NAS drive carriers and since drive warranties are through the manufacturer (from what I saw on either the promise or a promise reseller website), the drives would pretty much be like they were bought normally except that these 2TB drives are basically $36/ea shipped.

Worse case scenario I guess the order would be cancelled, but since these look like they're drop shipped directly and can't be cancelled by the customer, I'm thinking maybe a few if not a lot of orders would just get filled anyways.

Thoughts?

2tb SATA 3.5" spinners? Not for me. Not enough data density by today's standards.
 
Yeah I already have a 2x2tb Nas and a 2x3tb Nas. These wouldn't be bad for system builders though who could put one drive in each machine.

That was my thinking--it's just a bulk pack of 2TB drives for $36 shipped each brand new. I've seen used ones sell for that on here. :eek:

You know, you're right. I wasn't really thinking about that use case. It's a good buy for that use. For my own use case, it's ill-suited.
 
this store is closed anytime i see something i like lol. they seem to close up shop for the weekends.

B&H has a lot of Hasidic Jews as a part of their staff and work culture, so they close for most of the Jewish holidays. Whenever I went to the store there in New York (definitely a must see if you're visiting), it was like another world, both in terms of the electronic goodies and seeing so many Hasidic Jews on staff--all really nice and professional I might add. I loved going there--it's like Toys R Us for adults. (y)
