Wonder if these will be S variants or something and the S stands for Super, RTX 2060 S, RTX 2070 S and RTX 2080 S.

The pimax 8k x will finally be released this year.(Maybe) When it does..I buying something big.

So, what you are telling me, if this is true, is that AMD is lowering prices on Nvidia's graphic's cards and causing Nvidia's cards to release an overclocked version, thanks.

How much you want to bet it will be a paper launch, at least initially.

You would be correct and wrong. This is everything to do with amd. It's also to do with nvidia being
so greedy, that they thought that they could just sell their cards for whatever in the hell they wanted
too, and people would just pay it. But, that wound up biting them in the ass. So, instead of just admitting
that they were wrong and change the price. They are now just trying to be slick about it. They want to act
like their updating the cards at a cheaper price, just so they don't have to admit to how bad they tried to
screw the customers over. Now that the amd benchmarks have come out, showing the benchmarks
and knowing the price point of what amd sells their cards for. Yeah, amd has them bitches doing jumping
jacks now. SCREW NVIDIA AND INTEL. Shit, as a matter of fact. Amd has both them bitches doing jumping jacks now.

$100 off to MSRP, if they get priced at MSRP in stores, would make them almost reasonably-priced - still more than the the GTX 10XX series was at its launch, which itself was more than the GTX 9XX series was at its launch.

When both AMD and Intel are in the game, hopefully we'll see nicer prices all around.

You have to be delusional. The last company Nvidia is worried about is AMD. Even the handful of times AMD's cards have been faster, for a few weeks at least, Nvidia still sold more.

Does everyone forget that we always get benchmarks from AMD reference graphics cards that show great things but they never pan out during reviews?

Navi will absolutely be a paper launch, I wouldn't even take your money.

Jen-Hsun, on the other hand, when he gets on stage, holds out his arm and snaps his fingers like Chinese Thanos, new cards are on Newegg next day.

Nice try but you knew exactly what is meant in that these S cards will be paper launched.

According to TweakTown, an industry source believes Nvidia will announce at E3 2019 a SUPER Refresh to the 2060, 2070 and 2080, with faster GDDR6 and clocks, and $100 price drop to current MSRP. No update to the 2080Ti (it's already fast enough, and would just be showing off if it was any faster).

https://www.tweaktown.com/news/6609...ed-geforce-rtx-2060-2070-2080-soon/index.html

I see nothing about $100 drop in MSRP on that link. That part seems like wishful thinking to me.

Yeah... It looks like the real source of the $100 cut is from WCCFTech but no one wants to quote them, so the refer back to Tweaktown, despite them saying nothing about pricing.

WCCFtech notes tweaktown as the source of the 3 card refresh rumor, but the $100 price cut is from WCCFT, following their habit of combining rumors:
https://wccftech.com/nvidia-super-l...riants-with-100-off-msrp-and-souped-up-gddr6/
We have also heard that NVIDIA is going to be handing out some pretty impressive price discounts which would make them instantly competitive with AMD’s Navi lineup. Considering current pricing of the lineup, the RTX 2060 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2080 SUPER could retail for as low as $249, $399 and $599 respectively.

You need more than a few salt shakers for that rumor combo.

Not so sure yet. They delivered as expected last times in CPU and GPU and it becomes better at every launch.

Wait... Are you implying that the Radeon VII had no issues at launch and had tons of GPUs stocking shelves? Or is it some other one?

I'll do the same preface here that I always do. I own 9 GPUs. 1 is Nvidia. I am by far no Nvidia shill.

I told you these are rumors, and you followed up suggesting these are, in fact, rumors.

That pic needs to be bigger, btw. ;)

Seriously though, I suspect the pricing is going to be take-no-prisoners, and if I'm the head of the RTG group (is there anyone left over there, that hasn't gone to Intel?) then I am - together with Lisa Su in her office, or separately - clutching a bottle of johnny walker at the exact moment Jen-Hsun struts out on stage at E3, does his typical "drunk heil hitler wedding wave" and flashes the new prices on screens.

Consumerism stop buying overpriced crap from any company. Don't make up _any_ excuses.

You mean that people use different settings/hardware then what AMD uses on their machines. That is not that bad.
Nvidia is so not worried about AMD that they started GPP, Gameworks, The way you are meant to be played, They drove companies to sign exclusivity agreements (hence some only sell AMD and others only sell Nvidia).

The last generation of Nvidia cards sold had severe hardware issues in their retail versions. And people keep coming back for more.....

Is there any source/proof of that, or is it conjecture?

Looked to me like the 20 series was priced the same price:performance value as the 10 series because no competition, and the 2080Ti was your only option at the top, so nvidia made a killing by jacking up prices.

Seriously though, the pricing will be precision-guided to exactly where it needs to be for maximum damage before Navi has a chance to take one suck from the bottle, and if I'm the head of the RTG group (is there anyone left over there, that hasn't gone to Intel?) then I am - together with Lisa Su in her office, or separately - clutching a bottle of johnny walker while Jen-Hsun struts out on stage at E3.

Nah, you hinted at these being true rumors and now you are doubling back on what you said. Therefore, show proof of what you said, real verifiable proof, even believable rumors, and we would maybe then consider it. Otherwise, agenda.........

Edit: Hmmmm, nothing in the thread title about being rumors........

I told you these are rumors, and you followed up suggesting these are, in fact, rumors.

I asked for the source because they seemed like outlandish rumors...

Tracing it back, I find it is really WCCFT that simply took one rumor that could be somewhat believable, and combined it with some price cut they heard from an unknown/unmentioned source to push it into the realm of wishful thinking, where not only does NVidia release faster cards, it knocks $100 off all the faster cards as well.

If NVidia release faster Ti/Super versions of the 2060 and 2070, 2080, then if there are any price cuts, they would likely be on the OLDER slower version, not the new ones, and they wouldn't be $100 across the board, putting the 2060 below the price of the 1660.

Even if there was something to the original Tweaktown rumor, this combined rumor created by WCCFT is BS.

The big clue is right in the first sentence: "an industry source believes".

Another simple way to tell a rumor:

If CurrentDate < AnnouncementDate, then Rumor

Nvidia Q1 results: Revenue down 31% and net profit down 72% .Getting sued by your shareholders because of losing so much money. Does that ring a bell? If not, don't worry about. Because nvidia and intel is fixing
to get theirs.

If you bothered to look at what actually makes up the earnings you would understand that they are not merely a function of 2080Tis being "too expensive".

If the 2080Ti launched at the fantasy $599 or $699 pricing, and the lower cards proportionally lower priced, earnings would have been no better, and probably worse.

You can't use that as argument for poor 20 series sales given that most of it is from the Crypto-mining implosion:

NVIDIA Q1 FY 2020 Earnings Report: Post-Crypto Reset
Although seeing such a drop is never good, some perspective is required. NVIDIA’s 2019 fiscal year was a standout. Revenue in Q1 2019 was $3.2 billion, with a net income of $1.2 billion. But if you go back to Q1 2018, revenue was $1.9 billion, and net income was $507 million, which is much closer to Q1 2020. Comparing Q1 2018 to Q1 2020 has 2020 up 14.6% on revenue, and net income down 28.6%. Clearly the inflated results thanks to a perfect storm for NVIDIA’s 2019 financials has ended though, and the company has been thrust back to reality. Luckily reality for the company is that a Q1 of $2.2 billion makes it easily their second best Q1 ever, so I think they’ll be OK..

Last year was a high mark anomaly with crypto-mining driving revenues. But this Q1 ranks as their best so far, if you ignore last years anomaly, so it's hardly some kind of bleak result for NVidia.

Last thing NV wants to do is lower prices. There has been price creep for a while now. If anything the cards will be a little faster but prices will be the same, but maybe with a game bundle "valued at $100"

personally the 2060 should never have been over $299 and the 2070 should never have been over $399, but owning 70% of discreet gpu market, you can get away with such prices.

There is no "should have been" or "the price should be" when it comes to pricing. That's childthink.

They are legally obligated to their shareholders to keep the prices as high as the market will support.

Price wise both are "guilty" of trying to make as much money as they think they can from their parts. AMDs releases have never been dtrasticly cheaper at the high end. Both companies pretty mcuh price to the other on the upper spectrum. At the mid range and down things get a bit more interesting and for quite awhile AMD has tended to have the better value proposition. Although with the mining craze they had a hard time controlling retail pricing, not that anyone was trying to really.

I suspect NV deciding to release 2065 2075 2085s 2060s or whatever new cards with slighly bumped clocks... probably has as much to do wiht their own sell through as anything AMD is doing. With all the used cards floating around... and NV people waiting things out sitting on their 1070/80s ect. Pehraps AMDs coming card launch just seemed like a logical time to drop prices 10% and actually sell some cards. (not to mention they have likely tappped out the early adopter market for the RTX stuff now)

Well, a Turing refresh coming this summer has been speculated and assumed since Turing launched. Yields improve, refreshes happen, it's clockwork.

Obviously, Nvidia appearing to time the release or at least announcement of the refresh right in the Navi timeframe, seems like more than coincidence though.

Nvidia trying to slam the upper-mid range performance door before AMD gets a foot back in?

Kind of doubt there will be any price drops given where the 5000 series is slated to come at in price/performance but it would certainly be nice... I still remember the days when $500CDN got you near the best card for money going, and we're looking at almost 2x that these days for the same relative performance.

Overall they're doing OK but gpu sales for Turing were underwhelming as nVidia themselves admitted.
