The Division 2

the division had a couple of places like that. one was lincoln tunnel. I would solo it and activate super and you could one shot enemies with a sniper on challenge mode. got tons of great gear from that. Another was more an exploit, where you kill enemies at the start and then reset the mission. They got nerfed fast and hard, you probably have 3 days to run this one, only you need a full team to do it effectively.

Did it for a couple hours today with 2-4 people. Touchy with just 2 (on Hard), but 3 and up was fine. Used an LMG & Fire Turret like he suggested.

Below is the build I've been running for a while now, it's semi tanky with good damage...

ARv1.jpg

but... I'm bored, so I'm thinking of trying this out:

I've been wanting to make a Crit build, but I don't care for the frantic style gameplay that goes with running low armor. Still, I dabbled with a Vector build and had some fun with it, so we'll see. Since I haven't seen 2 of these pieces drop (BP & Vest, not that I was watching for them) in my 300hrs so far, I'm not holding my breath, lol. I'd keep the P416, but with Strained, and the Chatterbox.

On a more positive note, I have gotten both the Strudy Mag variations from Project Blueprints now (+20 rounds)

Found me a GS 499 sweet dreams today while doing roosevelt strongold on hard for the quest, that was a nice bonus.

That one's actually a neat weapon. Try it with the LMG. Just combat roll and get 25 rounds.

There is nearly zero useful info in today's Stare of the Game, but here it is if you're curious:

  • Partial Loot Cave fix out already, complete fix in Friday's maintenance (ie: get it while you can)
  • Fix for AI Backpacks acting as a shield incoming Friday also
If you are going to run the Loot Cave, here is the updated methond:

Alas I realize the only effective way to get 500 gear consistently is to either grind out field proficiency boxes or do heroics....This is where the grind a loot chase is annoying. there is just too much stuff for the RNG to choose from....They really should make an activity that is basically like a loot cave. To be honest I'm worried about the state of where this game is headed.....adding Raids isn't going to keep people hanging around, they really need to add something to the story or game rather than just game modes.....it should be expanded....i kind hope they tie in NY somehow.....that would be awesome....

My buddies and I are just grinding loot / crafting plans / hanging out ATM. I got some good RNG and had a Sweet Dreams shotgun drop one night (only level 496 but still), then a few days later had a Merciless drop (490 but I bumped it up to 500).

My buddies were like WTF, Man :-D

What is the best way for me to get blueprints aside from the daily SHD requisition?

As for gear score, WT5 sure seems stingy to give out gear much higher than what you already have. The proficiency caches go up one or two levels each time I get one.

Are they free rounds like with Double Duty? I know they nerfed the free ammo from Fill'rup and when Independence procs form my Liberty, it pulls from current ammo supply. Honestly, I don't think I could go without the second LMG, but free ammo would give me pause.

Farm Level 3 control points until you don't get blueprints anymore. That means you hit the cap from CP3s.

To get guaranteed GS500 proficiency and dark zone caches, matchmake and get someone to drop GS500 stuff for you. Put the junk or maybe good stuff they drop for you in your stash/inventory so you have one GS500 of everything and then you'll start getting GS500 caches.

The loot is even stingy at GS500. I only get 2-3 drops of 500 gear in a 2-3 hr session. Unless of course you run heroics......but that's hard when you don't have a good build because you don't have a bunch of good 500 stuff.

You're going to get some good tips, but personally I think the best tip is to just keep doing the things you enjoy doing. Everything else will get tedious and burn you out in time. GS comes soon enough.

Apart from that, DZ Caches drop much more frequently than Field Caches if you don't mind the DZ. Running with even one other person makes survivability and drop rates much better. Matchmaking for any activity so there are more enemies and more people to drop items they don't need. Bounty's and Faction Crates

As far as BP's go, Daily Projects & level 3 Control Points is where I've gotten most my BP's, including the two "Sturdy Mags" that are so hotly desired (20 rounds). SHD Projects only seem to drop Gear BP's, you'll have to get into the other Daily Projects for the good BP's.

I haven't tried any of the higher level control points yet. I have just done some missions on hard, and one on challenging. Proficiency caches were 475 for the last one, slowly going up.

I would prefer to stay at hard for now. Maybe challenging if I need to for a specific project.

I have had the 7.62 +20 round magazine for a while. I don't use rifles much so I haven't made use of it.

I got both sturdy mags from the daily project that requires 80/80/50 materials. Those are the SHD projects right?

I'm having trouble believing that, the game is a looter shooter with random loot so ymmv but 500GS loot is not that uncommon once you are at or around GS500, even running normal content, ofc most of that GS500 stuff is crap anyways, but that's kind of the point of the game, once you hit max GS with all the stat's you want the game is basically done, and that's not what the makers want to happen too fast.

I would go for speed and quantity of loot over slower/harder content with higher chance of better loot, more loot is imo the way too go, especially if you still need to up your GS.

Good deal. I had only gotten BP's for Gear from that Project, but got my first Mod from it after writing that the other day. Good to know.

Well maybe you have some different luck but GS 500 stuff is rare in world. The only way I've gotten it to drop consistently is doing heroics and the last boss drops all 500GS stuff, other than that GS 500 stuff just isn't there. Its usually between 496-499.

gunner.jpg

Joining the fight together with the other Specialists, The Gunner is equipped with the powerful Minigun, which will be a force to be reckoned with on the streets of Washington, D.C. With an emphasis on sustained damage output and damage resilience, the Gunner will serve as the vanguard of SHD Agents in the ongoing fight to reclaim the city.

When activated, The Gunner receive bonus armour based on the amount of Specialization ammunition they are carrying and can easily tank incoming damage for short periods of time while using their Minigun to suppress their enemies. There's a catch though – when the weapon is drawn, the Gunner can't enter cover, vault or roll.

To get enemies out in the open, the Gunner comes with the Banshee Signature Skill, which ignores cover and causes its targets to become confused. When an enemy stumble out of cover is the perfect opportunity for the Gunner to use their special grenade – the Riot Foam grenade – trapping the enemy in place.

The specialization comes with a new skill tree and the P320 XCompact sidearm.

The Gunner will be available to test on the Public Test Server, opening on June 4th, in order get as much feedback on it before it is released on the Live servers in Title Update 4, coming in June 2019. Please join us on the official forums and tell us about your experiences with it.

SPECIAL FIELD RESEARCH

While the three previous Specializations are automatically available to you when reaching level 30, to unlock Gunner you need to take on Special Field Research: five stages of in-game challenges, each with their own set of objectives and rewards. By completing all five stages, you will gain access to the Gunner Specialization and the newest signature weapon in the SHD arsenal.

If you have the Year 1 Pass, you will instantly unlock the Gunner Specialization. You can still take on the Special Field Research, but as you progress through the stages you will unlock additional, exclusive cosmetic rewards; the Fisticuffs and Front Flex emotes, Charcoal and Detritus gear dyes, Rosethorn and Pineapple weapon skins, the Gunner mask and the Gunner specialization uniform.

The Special Field Research will be available on the Public Test Server, but on the PTS you will not have to complete it to give the Gunner a go.

FAQ:

  • Since Pass players get immediate access to the specialization, doesn't this create a gameplay advantage?
    • Specializations have abilities and specialized weapons tailored to specific playstyles. Though Year 1 Pass owners will have the benefit of instant access to new Specializations, all players will be able to unlock them through gameplay. All Specializations have different strengths and weaknesses, and appeal to different playstyles and tactical situations. The new Specializations will offer the same tier of power as other Specializations.
  • Is Year 1 Pass the only option to instantly access the specialization and earning the cosmetic rewards?
    • Players interested in the Gunner specialization access and earnable cosmetic rewards, can either secure it through the Year 1 Pass, or purchase a Gunner ‘Specialization Pack' for Premium Credits on the in-game store, which will entitle them to the same benefits for the Gunner specialization.
    • Note that Year 1 Pass comes with similar benefits for the remaining 2 specializations coming later in Year 1, as well as host of other content & perks. Discover what Pass has to offer here.
  • Can I still get the cosmetic rewards if I start the Specialization Field Research without the Pass?
    • Yes. You can upgrade to Year 1 Pass at any point. The moment you get Year 1 Pass, you will immediately unlock Gunner (if you have not finished the research just yet), as well as get the cosmetic rewards you have earned, depending on which stage you are at.
    • Even if you unlocked the Specialization without the Pass, once you purchase it, you will immediately unlock all cosmetic rewards, including the uniform.

Changes in the PTS:

I haven't gotten to play much, but I wanted to mention 2 cool things.

  • Specialization Weapon trees have changed, instead of getting a buff to a specific weapon in a certain tree, you can buff 2 of whichever primary weapons you like. So, for example, instead of Demolitioist only having access to an LMG buff, you get access to all the weapons, but after choosing 2, it locks you out of the rest. This way you can buff the weapons you like to use no matter which Specialization you're using.
  • There is a new Exotic gear set coming. It looks like the BP's for it drop from Control Points (any level)
I'll update as I learn more, but thought that was worth mentioning.

Everyone will run Sharpshooter with a buff to AR’s and LMG’s. At first blush I’m thinking I’d prefer they leave it the way it is now.

I'm torn between my current setup = Sharpshooter + LMG (m249) / Rifle (Merciless) + Unstoppable + Braced / Patience or my other favorite (fun but not very practical) = Survivalist + LMG + Shotgun (Sweet Dreams) + incendiary grenades + Mad Bomber

I wonder if the cahnge will let you spec into two weapon like the specializations are set currently. I ultimately would like to spec into ( LMG and AR ). I run demo now and build my Character around the LMG and use an AR because the SMG just doesn't do enough damage per mag. The RoF and accuracy just doesn't warrant its use in PvE at least.....I am very interested in the direction they are taking this.

That's exactly what it will let you do. You will eb able to choose 3 out of 5/6 so classes won't impact weapon selection.

As for the SMG, if you do SMG, you have to understand that it's a high ROF/crit weapon and spec for that. Maybe focus on stats/talents that have chance of proc on a per bullet basis (since you are spraying so much lead, it should logically proc more often on SMG). You also have to like being close up, no trying to snipe with a SMG. I used the SMG only as a backup when I was bum-rushed by a badguy but used my main - whatever it was - for everything else.

I tried to spec into this or that, but at the end of the day just decided to do +weapon damage (either generic or specific weapon, +damage to elite, then add +armor set with a weapon bonus and throw some mod chips with the stats / specific weapon focus that I'm interested in. That really helped me out once I reached World Tier 5 and all the mobs became much spongier - even the red guys.

Some rather interesting and big changes.

  • Changes to Specializations include buffs to TAC-50 & Crossbow, 5 additional points to spend in each Specialization & your choice of 2 primary weapons to buff.
  • Specialization ammo will have a meter showing you when it will drop, to make it more predictable (still think we should leave the BoO with at least 2 rounds no matter what)
  • Generic Gear mods will now only work in generic slots. All Gear mods will have a specific slot now. (not sure this is an improvement, will have to test)
  • Occupied DZ will get a Division 1 style Rogue system with 50 levels of Manhunt
  • Skill Build improvements are WIP
  • Exotic Gear Set still unconfirmed, but teased

Also i can not complete any mission. Such as unlocking a laptop or getting through to the next room to complete...

On the Epic store the game is 30.19 after the sale price I might bite finally just play the story or whatever.

Anyone else feel like the game is dieing out? The raid was a big let down with no MM, and the fact the top guilds are doing it in 15-16mins kinda means its a joke now.

I think that they are alienating 99% of the player base to appease the 1% that does the raid. Gear should not be locked behind it.
