I guess I'll find out on Wed when mine arrives. I also read that FreeSync with an AMD card gives it better pixel response than with an NVIDIA GPU. That particular reviewer suggested going with the G-Sync version if you own NVIDIA since it has better response time (with some overshoot) but the price premium simply isn't worth it, especially since I already have a 27" ROG PG278Q monitor.

Definitely not worth double the price we paid to get gsync. Especially since this one is freesync 2 and has low framerate compensation that gives you adaptive sync over it's entire range. Imo, since Nvidia supports freesync now, you're better off buying a freesync monitor since it opens you up to both brands of cards down the road.
Even taking into account that Nvidia's hardware g-sync might be better. I mean it cost's more so it's gotta be better.. ... .. Right?

Can we use lfc with nVidia though? I thought it was an AMD thing.
From what I've read, I believe it should work.
LFC is specifically an AMD feature -- it is not part of Vesa adaptive sync -- so I don't know if nvidia has an equivalent feature or not but it won't just 'automatically' work. (LFC basically works by leaving the monitor at a higher refresh rate when the FPS drops low but by displaying the frame twice). Nvidia may very well have a feature that does this, I'm not sure, but there would need to be some sort of specific support for it.

The next monitor was the Viotek GN24C, another 24-inch 1080p monitor, this time with a VA panel and a 48 to 144 Hz refresh rate range. Again, this monitor worked perfectly, and due to the large refresh rate range it also supported LFC.
This was one feature we were curious to see if worked properly on GeForce GPUs. If Nvidia was being lazy they would just let adaptive sync deactivate when frame rates dropped below the 48 Hz refresh window. However that’s not the case, instead Nvidia is properly supporting LFC with monitors that should support LFC, so when frame rates drop below 48 FPS, the monitor runs at a multiple of the frame rate and frames are duplicated.

Good info, glad to know that LFC will work. Mine arrives on the 15th as well, looking to try 1440p/144 after a few years on 4k/60, see if the big bump in refresh is worth the drop in screen size.

It doesn't have to be. Works perfectly find on my 2080ti. High refresh rate, G-Sync all work. I bought this a month or so ago in a different sale.

Mines out for delivery but unfortunately I'm not home so hopefully I get back on time.
Browsing on mine now.
Don't forget to manually enable Freesync, and also set windows refresh rate if you came from a lower hz monitor.
Waiting for it to warm up to do a color calibration, OOB it seems bright, but I had my big monitor cal'd and that made a big difference.
About to update drivers, i had bad luck with earlier versions that supported FS, so fingers crossed.

OOB the brightness on mine was set to 100 which was retina burning. I have mine dialed in pretty well now and I am very happy with the purchase.

I'm still waiting on UPS to get here but I'm hoping the VA blur doesn't put me off from the display, especially since my primary right now is a TN 27" 144 Hz 1ms G-Sync Asus ROG monitor. How long is the return period on monitors for Costco anyway?
That's a fact, it is insanely bright out of the box. Turned down to 10 when doing my calibration.
I know that some/most people don't have a tool to calibrate, and some people are ok with running a calibration done on someone else's monitor. So here's the cal I did tonight.
Low level room light. Cal done on Spyder5 Pro.
Monitors are a regular return item, they don't fall under the 90 limit for TVs, computers, etc. So you have .....forever?

Really? I thought they'd count them as a TV or something. Good to know. Have you noticed any smearing/blur in games yet?
It sure is hard to find good info on this. But I found a reddit post that had info from both a Costco employee and someone who called costco twice, and the answer he got was
As far as smearing/blur, I was playing around with getting HDR to work in Division 2, but I'll go fire it up and look specifically.
EDIT:
It's possible that I'm not sensitive to it, but with the monitor response time set to "Fast" (the default) I didn't notice any smearing.

The monitor is here, got it mounted on my wall. Going through the presets, I think the default Gamer one looks good and so does Vivid. The FPS setting is way too washed out and bright to be of any real use unless it's adjusted I suppose. I'll have to check out reviews to see if there is any differences in response time between the modes. It definitely seems a lot bigger than my ROG 27" display that it replaced as my primary. Will do some gaming tests in Apex Legends shortly and see how it holds up and if I see the dreaded smearing/blur that reviewers mentioned.
Edit: I've got one pixel that gets stuck on a red/black background but works everywhere else. It's on the far right side of the display so it's not too bothersome.
Edit 2: My Astro A50 command center decided to die today so while playing Apex (w/out sound) I didn't notice any blurring. In fact I think it's easier gaming w/this monitor vs my 27" because of the bigger size so it made hitting guys easier
I set it to Extended for FreeSync with Fastest selected. The image quality is definitely very nice, I don't notice any blurry text like some reviews mentioned but I did setup Clear Text as soon as I got the display installed. Definitely worth the $299 + tax I paid for this thing. I'm glad NVIDIA finally woke up and decided to support FreeSync.P.S. I love the super retina searing brightness and left it at default lol.

I know that windows HDR is borked, I have it disabled on my living room TV, but I thought that maybe in game support would be better.
Enabling HDR in Div2 has an effect, it seems to work to a point once i move the HDR range slider down closer to the monitors range.
However, it gives everything this insane orange tint, I tried playing for a bit, but after 30min my eyes were aching.
Anyone have any tips on getting HDR to work, properly?

Got mine hooked up last night, did a very basic calibration, and played some Monster Hunter World on it for a bit. So far, I think it's a steal for the price we paid. Colors are good, freesync 2 works perfectly with my Nvidia card, and overall build quality seems good. I didn't notice any blurring, but I'm admittedly not overly sensitive to that stuff. There is definitely a noticeable dpi difference coming from a 27" 2k monitor (especially since they're sitting side by side now), but it's not as noticeable while in a game. It's definitely there on the desktop, though. Going to put it on an arm tonight, so I can move it a few inches further back.

Looks like Micro Center is offering these in store for $299. I randomly checked the Columbus OH store and they have several in stock.

I don't think Microcenter sells the 850, pretty sure they only carry the 650. Not a huge difference but you lose the wider color gamut and Freesync 2 that come on the 850.

Ah, good catch. You're absolutely right; I didn't pay attention and assumed it was the 850. My bad.
I just saw where Massdrop (now Drop) is selling the 650G (G-Sync) model for $699, normally $699. What a deal!

Well its been several days since I've had mine and fortunately the stuck pixel went away and all is well. Loving the display so far, it's improved my Apex kills/damage and is just a pleasure to use. I was able to OC it to 160 Hz but in games there was a bit of distortion so I put it back to default.
