Here are a few I've been waiting for.

Another left 4 dead
Another Elder Scrolls game
Another Fall Out game
Another Grand theft auto game

Valve doesn't see the point in making those kind of games anymore.

Bethesda announced a new ES last year, but games take time to make.

Fallout 76 was a....Thing.

Rockstar just released Red Dead Redemption 2. The next GTA won't be out until the next console generation.

Huge open world games take a long time to produce. As for Left 4 Dead, I don't know. It would be easy to do something like that, but I don't know if the demand is there given the direction of gaming in general.

Turtle Rock is working on Back for Blood. Left for dead successor maybe.

Obesidan is working on Outer worlds which is a Epic exclusive looks kinda like Fallout 76.

Elder Scrolls is being remastered.

Red Dead redemption 2 on Pc maybe in the future.

The left 4 dead thing is not understandable. I believe the issue was when Valve decided to release l4d2 so soon after l4d. This caused a boycott and all sorts of problems.

It seems valve decided to just stay away to avoid the publicity nightmare.

The game was really fun and a new refresh would be very popular in my opinion.

Actually it is. Everything has gone to some looter shooter or open world design. Zombie games have pretty much all turned into survival horror type things. Left 4 Dead 2's lack of popularity is due to some of the things you mentioned, but ultimately, Valve may believe there isn't any money in a direct sequel due to the performance of the last iteration and due to changes in the genre.

That new world war z game is basically left 4 dead 3. And there were a lot of similar coop zombie games that came out a while ago.

Elder Scrolls 6 is in the works, I believe a 2021 release.

New Doom game this year
New Wolfenstein game this year
New Rage game this year

I would like to see a true next gen WoW 2. Like brand new game engine, all new story, and new next gen A.I. for smart NPCs and more realistic quest system. And a game world that's HUGE truly open gigantic, with tens of thousands of real players on each server.

I got the feeling that ES 6 was like 5 years away because aren't they working on same space game or something?

Edit: Starfield is the game that I was thinking about.

Keep dreaming. Check out Vermintide for similar gameplay set in the Warhammer universe.

Another Elder Scrolls game
Blades just came out, a new expansion for the ever popular TESO is coming out in June, and Skyrim still sells like crazy every time they re-release it. TES VI was announced officially at E3 last year, but at that point they said they basically just started working on it. It takes at least 5 years to make one of these, so I wouldn't expect a release until 2022-2023 at the earliest.

Another Fall Out game
Fallout 76 just released half a year ago.

Another Grand theft auto game
I believe someone from Rockstar said they're working on it, but it would be a game for the next console generation, so 2021 at the earliest in my opinion. GTA V Online is still making them money hand over fist.

You need to expand your horizons. Plenty of other great games out there.

I think my problem with a lot of new entries of older games would be, "What's the point?"

In the Left 4 Dead case I think we've reached peak Zombie and honestly it's not the only game in town that does what it does. It simply would only possible be a better looking version of what we already got. I also don't think it'd sell too well. Just given the theming of it.

There's some sequels I'd love to see. Not sure all these are popular but I'd love to see them.

Mario RPG - a true sequel or spiritual successor that's not Paper Mario.
Amped - bring me back to the Amped 2 glory days
Diablo 4 - well, I'm iffy on this one. I'd love to see this as Blizzard North's vision, not the current Blizzard/Activision
Pilotwings
Delta Force
- Sadly Novalogic is pretty much dead.
Fable - The series had potential but kind of fell short. Would love to see them go back to medieval times and make it a solid rpg.

I wouldn't care for any of the others if we were to get Warcraft 4. Theres the HD remake thing which is cool, but a new Warcraft, NOT WoW, would be truly epic.

OP your title is confusing. Just say "Games we are waiting for"
Sounds good. I don't know if it's popular or not, but I'd love to see a new Blood Omen or Legacy of Kain game. I'd even go for a version of the first Legacy of Kain that had all the cut and incomplete content finished. They wouldn't even need to remaster the graphics and I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

I want to see another Starship Troopers or Riddick game.
