DIYPC MicroATX Mini Tower Case $18/$27 shipped at Newegg for 72 Hrs

Good deal on a mATX case. I bought a Rosewill one for $20 a few years ago and still use it. A metal box is a metal box. No need to pay a lot for it.

I built my wife a system a few weeks ago in the purple version. It's a pretty nice little case. Fans are super quiet.

But I can cut my hands open for free with a knife from my kitchen... /S

Good el cheapo cases I guess if bottom price tag is super important. I've shed enough blood to know I hate working on cheap cases. There will always be $20 cases out there... but spending $20 more is usually worth it. Power supplies too, except cheapo PS's blow up instead of slice hands.

Once upon a time when I still built for others, I built 5 systems using the cheapest of the cheap cases (looked a LOT like that black one shown), and components. Bottom line number was all that mattered if it hit the right specs. These cases are for people like that. Businesses that just DNGAF about what the cases look like. Just a box to hold parts under the desk and collect dust.

I've heard the cheap case argument lots of times. Sharp edges and the like. I was impressed when I bought a Rosewell mATX case on sale for $20 and it had no sharp edges anywhere. I would say, YMMV with cases. I will also say that I used to bang up my knuckles and cut my hands trying to get 4 pin molex connectors loose but since nothing uses those anymore (except maybe some fans but you can pull them at a safe angle), sharp edges are not as dangerous as they once were.

The PCI slots has usually where I have seen the difference between a cheap as heck case and a mid-range case. Usually the cheap ass case is you are tightening down that pci slot once. Where as the mid-range has thicker metal that can actually be reused multiple times. Of course none of them really come with legit pci blank off plates anymore.....just those annoying stamped out piece you break off.

For the price, I felt these DIYPC cases were very nice. Kind of limited on cable management, but the off side is bubbled out to give room for routing cables under the motherboard. I didn't get cut once. :)

what is the over all impression of this brand? I have my eyes on their silent PC cases, and their price is lower than other brand. But I am concern about thinner metal. I just install an antec p7, the metal is quite thin, so the hexagon motherboard screw keep coming off.

IF YOU READ the 2 or 3 eggs comments, you'll see this

- Most motherboard standoff holes were not threaded

Cons:
- Front two fans bearing went out after 1 year, back fan went out at 1.5 years (Be prepared for loud grinding noises when fans are on high)

this is the reason for those people in the following thread who said fans are no big deal, those fluid bearing fan is not cheap, and it wastes time to change it. There are good reasons for cases that c/w 1 yr. vs. 2 yr. vs. 3 yr.
