VideoCardz’s sources are confident another GTX Turing graphics card, the GTX 1650, will be released next month. Predictions suggest this GPU will cost around $179 and feature 4GB of GDDR5 memory and a 128-bit memory bus.

This also confirms that GeForce GTX Turing series are basically called 16-series. The card is likely to feature smaller Turing GPU, presumably TU117. Apart from that, not much is known about the card. We have, however, heard it launches next month. Earlier rumors indicated that GeForce GTX 1650 was planned for ‘late’ March, which may still hold true.

The only card of this generation that I'm waiting for.

Specifically for that upgraded Turing NVENC for my Plex server. Give me a low profile 1650 in the $150-180 range and I'm sold.

I wonder if there will be a 1670 - that would be quite a sweet card I think.

It seems to me this has one purpose to get people to at least buy a card even if it's not an RTX.....

1050 launched at $110 and it only went up to $140 for the 1050 Ti.

They should release a 3080Ti @ $750-800 so that I can upgrade my 1080Ti...this!

I refuse to pay $1400 for a 2080Ti

Yeah, so why the $179? suggested price? I just read that most users on Steam use either the 1060, 1050Ti or 1050. Laughable, with every article on high-end cards, I assumed this was what people gamed on.

Don't they have competition from AMD? What exactly are they doing? :ROFLMAO:

I don't understand what's going on with prices. I mean in December 2017 I bought a Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC 4GB (GV-N105TWF2OC-4GD) for $200 Canadian on Amazon.ca. Now, I looked at the lowest price in Canada and it looks like it's $270 Canadian. Is this because of the trade war?

It's odd to me because when I bought the video card, $200 was actually my limit. And I wasn't even happy about hitting my limit anyway. (By the way, I bought the OC model even though I run it on stock speeds. This is because if the fans fail, I'll still have the heatpipes to protect the card. Plus, at stock speeds the fans won't turn on. So, it's silent and will only use 75 watts.)

I'm the market for these cards. I don't game and this level of performance is quite adequate for the Autocad programs I use everyday. I just hope There's a dual slot, or better yet single slot and not the ridiculous triple slot of the 1660.

Hmm maybe I was not too far off...

It is still possible that those early product listings (3,4, and 6 GB in both gddr5 & 6) showed the lineup for the entire GTX 16xx family. I just doubt the 1660ti will get the 3 GB GDDR6.

edit: oops, missed the videocardz link about the 1660 getting 3/6 GB of gddr5. No way can this be the case.

except GTX 1050 is roughly $140 not $179 of the GTX1650. Seems "entry level" is getting price creep like everything else in Nvidia's lineup as well.

With 128 bit GDDR5, these will still most likely get crushed by the RX570, same as the 1050ti. Nvidia needs to equip the 1650ti with 128 bit GDDR6 to give the RX 570 any competition, which is already ridiculously low in price.

Early leaks show poor performance for the GTX 1650.

Simply put, 128 bit GDDR5 is turd-class. While the 1660 competes nicely with RX580/590, the RX570 will mop the floor with this new card, even with the RX570 limited to its competitor's power levels (Polaris is actually VERY efficient at lower clocks).

I imagine nVidia might release a 1650ti version with gddr6 when the newer memory prices drop if it ever wants to compete with AMD's value king.

Ah they should have charged $200 for this, $250 for the 1660 and $300 for the 1660ti that $20 dollar discount is a low blow to my recommended price.

Future king of the $150 MSRP segment. Will likely see this on sale for $139 and/or some games.

I don't need this card, but I do remember when $150 was my max GPU budget. This should still do 1080p nicely for the budget crowd.

Not likely. The RX570 will run circles around it if the specs are true. Early benchmarks show it in the same realm as the dismal GTX 1050ti, which makes sense given the 128 bit GDDR5.

It might be king in sales because, you know, people are stupid.

I have to say that with Freesync + 144hz 1080p panel + RX 570/4GB, I've been pretty happy playing Shadow of War on High, but with all AA off. In some areas I hit 45'ish fps, but normally am around mid 60s. It's just a really nice budget card for barely over $100.

Unless Navi gives a better bang/$, I think it's going to remain a nice "low-end" card for a while.

I bought a 550ti one time and thought it was the best card ever and it was when I was playing the game Rift. All the special effects added were amazing with the card.

So what on earth made you buy s 144hz panel when you've nowhere near enough juice to come close to driving it?

You just looking at old ass stock.

I just bought a RX 570 in Canada for like 150 CND. But the same place had 560s on for 200... just the way it is video card stock gets stale and you gotta know what your buying. I feel for the average joe that has no clue what they are buying. For that matter I feel for the people that will still get sucked into 1050s today when AMDs 570 and 80s often sell for less and slap the NV product silly. I'm sure somewhere right now someone is walking into their local part shop or hitting amazon or newegg ordering a $200 NV card based on oudated advice from a friend.

Anyway ya buying GPUs new or old these days feels like shopping for a used car.

I'm running a 570 and hit 120-130 fps in a lot of great games.... and I'm a Linux gamer. Haven't picked up shadow of war yet but Shadow of Mordor runs at a pretty steady 90 fps... I know borderlands isn't super demanding but no issues running those over 100 as well.

So yes the one game he mentioned is perhaps not pushing 75hz but I have no doubt he owns other titles that push 100+ without issue.

This is what Im looking forward to. I think that will be at the price point im looking for
Nah, I'm afraid I just cannot see this happening. It would be too close in performance to the 2060, but without RT it would have to be cheaper. This would then impact 2060 sales and hinder the uptake of RT cards. Basically, there's no room in the stack for a 1670 and releasing one doesn't make any sense for Nvidia. If you want better performance than a 1660 Ti, Nvidia want you to buy a 2060 and they have no reason to offer a non-RT card that competes with it.

ugh. AMD really needs to do something. NV has successfully bumped up every one of their cards up a tier in price. And they'll get away with it now, and for their future cards unless AMD can come out with something that'll surpass them at lower prices... and I'm not holding my breath. AMD might just go along with this new pricing scheme

That makes sense, I hadnt thought about it like that. I may have to just go for the 2060.

They "get away with it" because of the Nvidia brand and lack of competition. People vote with their wallets. As long as the sheep continue to buy.. Nvidia will continue

AMD already are going along with it - VII was priced to match the card that it matched in performance terms.

The 144hz panel features LFC due to freesync range.

I usually use this with an RX 580, and I have a 1440p 144hz for 1070SLI.

Right now my machines are all boxed up excpet the smallest one due to construction on the house :(
