So you know how some graphics cards come with a higher vram variant? I'm looking for older cards that double up in the vram department. I'm a collector looking for these oddball cards and I also want to run benchmarks as well.

Bonus points for mutliple cards of the same type! I want to bench SLI and Crossfire as well!

A few notable cards I'm looking for:

Radeon HD 2900 XT 1GB
(Extreme PC HD 2900 XT 1gb)

Radeon HD 3870 1GB
(Sapphire Vapor-X 1gb)

Radeon HD 4870 2GB
(Sapphire Vapor-X 2gb)

Radeon HD 4890 2GB
(Sapphire Vapor-X OC 2gb)

Radeon HD 5870 2GB Eyefinity Edition

Radeon HD 5970 4GB
(Sapphire 5970 TOXIC or Asus ARES I)

Radeon HD 7970 Ghz 6GB
(Sapphire HD 7970 Toxic 6gb)

GeForce 6800 Ultra 512MB
(BFG 6800 Ultra OC 512mb)

GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB
(XFX 7800 GTX XXX Edition)

Quadro FX 5500 1GB
(Based on G71)

Quadro FX 5600 1.5GB
(Based on G80)

GeForce GTX 285 2GB
(Palit GTX 285 2gb NE3TX285FHD45)

GeForce GTX 580 3GB
(EVGA GTX 580 CLASSIFIED Ultra 3gb)

GeForce GTX 680 4GB
(EVGA GTX 680 CLASSIFIED 4gb)

There are probably a few not listed here that I'd be interested in, so feel free to show me what you have.

I'm also looking for older dual-gpu cards as well, particularly Asus ARES and MARS cards. I'm also looking for oddball non-reference dual-gpu cards. Basically cards that were designed completely by the OEM. (Think Sapphire x1950 Pro DUAL, still looking for that one)

Feel free to PM me with offers and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Good luck on finding a 7800 GTX 512MB. I've been looking for a working one for years.

I looked up them 7970 cards and was boondoggled by the prices on the listings. Then I checked the descriptions and saw "mac pro compatible" in one of them. Ah, that explains it. People who cling to 10-year old Macs and want to pay out the nose for a GPU upgrade are insane, but they're probably paying college tuition for the kids of those ebay sellers.

Anyways, good luck with your search for these rare cards!

Radeon HD 2900 XT 1GB > Actually, the highest VRAM variant would be the FireGL V8650 2GB

Good catch dexvx! I haven't been researching workstation cards for very long so I must have missed that one.

Yeah some of these card are probably going to be quite rare, but I figured it's worth a shot asking on here.

The FireGL V8650 is relatively common, picked one up for like $30 shipped. REALLY hot, recommend you repaste and redo VRAM heatsinks (as they will likely tear on removing the heatsink).

Radeon 4870 2GB > FireGL V8750 is also an alternative.

Radeon 5870 2GB > FireGL V9800 is a 4GB version. That one is actually still very expensive.

Below review says Crossfire is available. I also messed up on the name. They're the FirePro V9800 / v8750.

Baseline specs looks identical to a 5870, except memory is 50MHz slower (for the v9800). I assume something similar for the v8650/v8750 and their consumer counter parts.

It's vastly different for most Quadro parts. For instance, the Quadro 6000 6GB correlates closest to a GTX 480, but it's missing some CUDA cores, much lower core/memory clock speeds.

if you ever do the HD2600 series i have what i think may be the less common MSI Diamond, 512mb instead of 256mb AND it's GDDR4 instead of DDR2 and GDDR3

I have an untested Gigabyte HD 4850 1GB GVR485OC1GH you can have for the price of shipping. But you have to take the HD 4850 reference card I have too. Bought them both a couple of years ago for nostalgia but never even got around to testing them.

Those were cool cards, I remember my 4870 was able to handle Crisis on High settings with 15-20 FPS

And 15FPS was a big deal for Crysis on high back then

All offers PM'd. Thanks guys keep em coming!

dexvx I'll definitely have to check out these FirePro cards then. I wonder if they can be overclocked through MSI Afterburner and brought back up to speed?

Old cards I have:

FirePro W7000 4GB
Quadro 4000 2GB
Geforce 560Ti 1GB

Let me know if you want them, I will let go pretty cheap.

Pm sent. Just nabbed a pair of 7800 GTX 512s from eBay. They're Dell OEM models but I'll take em and hope that they work.

Keep em coming!

So the 7800 GTX 512s I ordered are dead.
FlawleZ wasn't kidding. Still looking for more high vram cards!

might still have a 1gb HD4850.

EDIT: oh man a 2gb HD48xx series still probably a decent card today, i only retired my 4850 because some games require newer version of direct x. it was running modern games on medium low.
