Need help to find a Windows 10 compatibility link

I read it either in this forum, or elsewhere from a link on Microsoft

it says PC comes out 2 year before win 10 comes out, is compatible with win 10. It is not the win 10 hardware compatible list page.

It's more of a guarantee page from microsoft

but when I try to google it, I can't find it anymore


can anyone help?
 
An easy way to know is to go to your computer manufacturers support site and look at the drivers. If Windows 10 is an option that you know for certain it has support. But even if only 8.1 or 7 is a choice there is still a good chance it will be supported.

You can also just run the Upgrade Assistant in place over your current OS from within Windows. If there is a problem it will error out and tell you what hardware is not compatible. If fully compatible, the update will be able to complete. Then you can do a clean install after.

The link is not for me. I have some clients who got some rather old PC, they need to know what is the age limitation of their PC in order to run properly. A few months ago, I read microsoft said 2 year, now the above says 3 yr.

Its bunk though, I was running windows 10 on an AMD 4400, that was released in 2005. 10 years, from the release of Windows 10.

Your best bet is to recommend running the Upgrade Assistant.
 
I also seems to run into a different problem. I want to check at Lexmark whether such and such laser printer support win 10. It seems the website won't allow me to view whether it has win 10 driver unless it detect my PC has that lexmark printer. So I have to check at the client's site
 
The best and the simple way is to go ahead and run the Upgrade Assistant on your current system and it should tell you everything about the system compatibility. and if you think if you can still get a free upgrade
then simply back up your data and from here, you’ll need to create a Windows 10 installer by going to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/ and then configuring the installer (Create installation media for another PC) with your desired hardware. Use ISO file if you plan to burn it to a DVD or USB flash drive if you’d rather install it from a USB device. You’ll also need to select 32 or 64 bit versions of Windows.
