Parents Blame Elementary School's Cell Tower after 4th Student Diagnosed with Cancer

I don't see where it states it in the article: Is this the new 5G controversy? Or is this an old-school (4G) cell tower?
It is a plain old 4G tower. I bet these same parents have WiFi and use BlueTooth... for goodness sake, this is a grieving parent grasping at straws. I feel for them, I would be very upset if my kids came down with cancer... but I would be demanding tests of the air and water in and around the school; What building materials are being used? What is in the water? These are things that are far more likely to cause cancer.
As an asside; I use to work in a school district, and the community got up in arms when a new cell tower went up in view of the school. Students, faculty, parents were all sorts of suspicious of the new tower for about a year before they cooled off. But my favorite thing to do was to take them to the other side of the building, and show them the 5 year old cell tower that was literally within 600 feet from the school grounds. The new tower was about a mile and a half away.... *sigh* people.
Still, lets not give an irrational grieving parent a microphone. This is not productive.

They should really make those parents look like asses and move the cell tower just to prove them wrong.

That'd show em.
Yep! And the school district would loose out on $2K/mo and get crap coverage!
Seriously, having a cell tower on campus is probably doing a ton of good for those kids, but dumb parents are going to kick their own kids in the teeth removing it.

If (big if) they truly believe this, why haven't they completely banned all mobile phones from their lives? School or otherwise?

(sorry Californians, I probably just suggested the next "big" law that's going to be passed in your state)

i kid you not some guy came into my motel with a rf scanner to see if we were quiet enough in the rf bands for him not to have his rf allergy get triggered. this shit is spreading beyond california.

time to wrap your kids in tinfoil cause that is going to be the only way to shield them from the frequencies man...

I'm not going to rule one way or the other about whether people can have a minor physical reaction (compared to cancer) like an allergy, in the presence of RF. Reasoning is two fold...
First: People are photosensitive and can't go outside without having a severe reaction. (Not sure if lightbulbs invoke the same response, but probably do a degree.) Light, as we've already explained in this thread, is just another wavelength of 'radiation'. There's a reason Solar Storms are an issue, both to our electronics on the ground, but also in space. Same for our astronauts on the space station.
Second: While I'm in the immediate presence of my Cell Amplifier's output antenna, my tinnitus worsens a bit. Not enough that I'm like "OMG my brain is cooking" but... yea.

Take that and combine it with the fact that continual exposure to something specific can create an allergy and I can see why, for some people, there may be a legitimate "allergy" to a specific frequency of radio waves. Most of us are in the presence of 2.4Ghz 24/7 due to our WiFi.

However, there's also the small problem of determining how many really ARE legitimate cases... Because there's also the known fact that our minds can manifest any number of physical issues, like breaking out in hives. The placebo-effect in other words.

Still, walking around with an RF scanner is indeed a sure-fire way to make yourself look crazy. heh

btw no we are not i could have told him without using the scanner and given him some pointers on how he could cope in our rf saturated society there are places one can live and not be hammered like that.

there is rf blocking paint you can get i would say sewing one of those space blankets into a regular quilt would be a good thing too. buying a motor home and lining the walls with fine brass mesh and grounding it.

Let me paint a picture my motel is a long 900ft long 2 story brick and reinforced cement 70 year old holiday inn in order to have adequate wifi coverage to all of the rooms i have 7 Ubiquiti Long range AP and i can see my building on my phone about a block away. If his meter did not peg the needle i would be shocked. I have had shady people claim to be with verizon saying my wifi was messing with the towers. they actually convinced the ex day clerk to unplug the router.
Despite how oversaturated my network should be i can step behind a wall and have the signal drop off to 0 the building has a crazy high absorption so i need that many ap.

some people go here....

Yeah I just don't see the data backing this one up. 4 kids in three years might be statistically significant/anomalous in a small school (like sub 1000 kids) but otherwise probably not as unusual as people think. Much like people blaming vaccines for autism, when something bad happens people want somewhere to lay the blame and find it hard to accept that sometimes bad things just happen; No good reason required no evil bad guy making it all happen just life being shit. I hope their kids all get better but they are wrong in all likelihood about the cause of their illness.

exactly, Correlation does not imply causation.

it's like saying "3 left handed people in a small school developed cancer, therefore, being left handed causes cancer"

I don't have any proof of it, but I can't help but wonder if the extreme rf saturation we are now living in is not at least partially responsible for the massive reduction in sperm count over the last few decades.

Nah. Sperm count reduction is a direct result of man-hating feminism and the *rise* of the 'soy-boy'.

Sucks what's happening to the kids. But 1 tower, in 1 town, across a country of 350 million people just happens to be the only one in the entire country that causes cancer within months of exposure? Doubtful.

You are right, it must be a sub-surface wardenclyffe tower. I'll bet thats the same one that caused the wildfires. B-)

This radiation is non-ionizing, it isn't going cause cancer. I've been up this tree with my mother in law several times. That being said, I've seen some excellent scientific white papers on cell radiation/heat and the quality and quantity of sperm cells. There does appear to be a correlative effect between storing your phone next to your twig and berries all the time and your swimmers. If I recall correctly, the sperm cells lack a membrane that many other cells have that lends them to be a bit more susceptible to damage.

I am willing to bet Alexey Degtyarev, or....Strelok, for that matter understand the difference quite intimately.

Devra Davis of Environmental Health Trust has made it her lifelong mission to prove a link between RF radiation and cancer. She has a history of using junk science to try and persuade people around to her line of thinking.

Looking at the summary of the research paper, they only detected an increase in one certain kind of cancer in the rats when they were exposed to an e-field of 50 V/m for 19 hours per day continuously.
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0013935118300367?via=ihub

The Paper said:
Methods
Male and female Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed from prenatal life until natural death to a 1.8 GHz GSM far field of 0, 5, 25, 50 V/m with a whole-body exposure for 19 h/day.

Results
A statistically significant increase in the incidence of heart Schwannomas was observed in treated male rats at the highest dose (50 V/m). Furthermore, an increase in the incidence of heart Schwann cells hyperplasia was observed in treated male and female rats at the highest dose (50 V/m), although this was not statistically significant. An increase in the incidence of malignant glial tumors was observed in treated female rats at the highest dose (50 V/m), although not statistically significant.

You know the maximum e-field your average GSM cell phone tower outputs? 0.2-0.3 V/m average at 2 meters distance (max can be up to 1 V/m), and the strength of the field decreases inversely as the square of the distance. At 200 meters the electrical field will all but disappear. Your article likes to point out that their methods were below maximum recommended exposure, which is actually about 35 V/m, but even then a cell tower is outputting over 100x less strength than even that. Your hair dryer is more likely to give you cancer, as they will output an e-field of up to 2000 V/m up to a distance of an inch. California should ban hair dryers.

Maybe too many cell phones in school? Line teachers and students carrying around cell phones (micro radiation that adds up to big radiation)

I know where this school is located - drive near it frequently.

It's in the heart of Ag California. Lots of vineyards (not upscale... the Boons Farm vintage), lots and lots of almonds/pistachios. And it's right next to a disgusting riverbed that is dry most of the year.

Odds are, it's ag chemicals - some pesticide/herbicide. They still use drop dusters (the planes that fly crazy low) and blowers to dust crops around there. A lot of industrial processing nearby (mostly ag-related as well) - so remote chance it's some crazy buried in drums chemical ala Erin Brockovich... but probably not anything radioactive or military or aliens. Good old fashioned Roundup and Lariat.

If cell phones really reduced sperm count than maybe I wouldn’t be 3/3, so myth busted

Who knew 4G was strong enough to remove electrons from atoms.

They have no idea what they are taking about, as they don't understand that how much doesn't matter if what is there is non-ionizing.

You must be one of those guys if they even sneeze near their wife they immediately get impregnated. I'll pour out some liquor for my fallen homie.

technically speaking it is at the same frequency your microwave oven uses to boil water just at less than 70mW vs the microwave at 700-2100W
