Koei Tecmo Games has released Dead or Alive 6: Core Fighters, a free-to-play version of the recently released 3D fighter. This is an ideal way to experience the game for those who quickly grow tired of fighters or merely want to see how good a fighting game can look on modern hardware. It’s also a way to spite the developer for releasing a game with a $93 Season Pass.

DEAD OR ALIVE 6 is fast-paced 3D fighting game, produced by Koei Tecmo Games, featuring stunning graphics and multi-tiered stages that create a truly entertaining competitive experience. With the help of a new graphics engine, DOA6 aims to bring visual entertainment of fighting games to an entirely new level. The graphics are made to be both enticingly beautiful and realistic, bringing out enhanced facial expressions, such special effects as depiction of sweat and dirt on character models, and realistic hit effects.

$93 season pass? Yeah... No, I don't think so. I love these season pass scams where they wall off a portion of the base game at release to sell it to you later on. At least there are still a few companies that release content patches for free.

Already gone f2p after being out what 2 weeks? Having a day 1 $93 DLC is not a huge turn off you think? That was just the 1st DLC. There were more $93 DLC coming in the future. Fuck off your greedy fucks. Game deserved to fail.

Toning down the bodies, de-emphasizing the "physics", then $93 DLC? They must want to fail at this point lol.

The physics is the same as it always was. There are now multiple types of outfits, some sensible, some sexy. The engine is better than ever. The fighting system is one of the best around. That $93 season pass will be available as separate packs, so if you say, don't want stupid "wedding costumes" but want something else, you can just buy what you want. Nobody is forcing anything. I agree that it's pretty ridiculous, but the base full version of the game is great. Nothing really to buy but that. You can unlock a ton of stuff in the game as it is. It's also quite fun. I don't play online, only local with friends, but I also hear that the net code is among the better for fighting games. The did the "Core Fighters" thing with DOA5:LR too. It obviously sold well enough for them to want to make a 6. Consider it a demo. If you like it, buy the full game. If not, you didn't spend anything. Or customize it to your liking. It's all optional.
