Hey Everyone,
Figured it couldn't hurt to post up my recent (still ongoing) experience with a suddenly bad DIMM from my 2x8GB kit that's under 1 year old from Corsair. I've been running rock solid with the DIMMS in the title within my sig rig @ 3200MHz via the XMP profile on my mobo, and suddenly this Friday, no POST 1/10th of the time (sure made for some fun troubleshooting this weekend, RAM roulette sometimes posting was a joy to diagnose) and if I did post, I'd BSOD within 5-10 minutes under load.
Single DIMM is running like a champ, all OC's reapplied.
Anyway, ticket entered with Corsair support 10 minutes ago, lets see how my RMA experience goes.
Performance note: already seeing a large fluctuation in my minimum FPS, something something 16GB of RAM should be standard in a gaming PC, we all now this. Sea Of Thieves and Hellblade: Senuas Sacrifice (GREAT GAME) are seeing big drops in FPS in heavy/dark areas, while my older Source titles (NS2 and GO) could care less I'm at only 8GB's on single DIMM.
