This game was/is pretty cool. I havent logged into the game in a while though... doing the same map with the same monsters and no variations got a little old.

Yeah, but there's a reason for their madness, and I admire how Crytek is handling their development. If the (speculation) I'm hearing is correct, they aren't doing as much concurrent development as you would normally expect - they may have an idea of how their maps and monsters will work, but they aren't going to do textures / polygons / draw mechanics until they know that the game will function the way they want it to function on the platforms that they want it to play on. This is important because Hunt: Showdown is a unique property, it's really a first of its kind, a PvP atmospheric stealth hunt in a sensory rich environment. From watching others play the game I'd say they aren't spray-painting in the vegetation. I have a feeling the map design is much more boutique, and I think that each dirt bank, bush and row of shrubs has some thought behind it. If they developed all the maps while optimizing netcode and gameplay, etc., and then found out they needed to reduce textures, polygons and environment density it would mean they would have wasted a huge amount of time.

Sure, it's just one map, but that map feels solid. As id used to say, the game will be ready when it's ready.

Well there are two maps now.... This easily the best game I have played in a very long time. That said, it is not for the crowd that is used to respawning.

2 maps and 2 methods of play .. I just prestiged again and hitting up the quickplay to try and get some good hunters with traits and decent gear that I can't really get yet being at a lower level. Digital crack man ... digital crack. I don't know how much worse I'd be with a controller than a mouse and keyboard though.

QP is a fun and an easy way to make some cash, and is a quick in and out....but duos can be some most hardcore gameplay you have ever had . Nothing like getting that clutch 1v2 after your partner has gone down.

The game is good fun, but I'm waiting until I can play with a larger team. It's difficult to play when you have 3 or 4 friends that want to do some matches and you have to pick one because you can't do more than two at a time...

The game doesn't have the player base of other games though, and I'm thinking this is a big reason they haven't added more team options.
