The Pentagon Wants to Replace Passwords with the Way You Move or Walk

Ever been walking your dog while carrying groceries and swiped your phone with your nose?

No, but if I'm the only one walking the dog while at the park my phone is upside down in my pocket because the headphone jack is on the bottom of the phone and I'm also sometimes carrying a bag with dog excrement I picked up from my dog so no one steps in it. The leash in one hand with a bag of excrement in the other does make using the phone a bit of an issue which is why I don't normally touch the phone until after the bag has been thrown in a trash can along the route. Does that satisfy you?

Hmm, I wonder why they want this.... Your phone accepts your 'walk' to activate the unlock mechanism. I'm sure it has nothing to do with them looking for an easy backdoor to that same authentication mechanism, which has access to your decryption key. They can't do that silently if your phone requires a manual password entry to get the encryption key.

Yeah, any suggestion to make 'unlocking easier for users' from the pentagon or NSA is a backdoor in disguise. Why the fuck would they care about making it easier for US to unlock our own phone.......

Is this stemming from the [H]ardOCP article where the police busted a robber(?) based on his strut or gate?

In the above application I like the use of the technology but for phones, really bad idea.

Yeah until your gait is so identical to the perp that you're snagged up and tossed in prison for 60 years instead. Be careful what you wish for.
