What would cause flashing and like a corrupt screen I guess

Like when using my internet browser Firefox all of a sudden the screen would flash to a black screen come back but it would all corrupt. It is hard to explain. Hasn't happen sense going back a image but still I would like to know what could cause it please? Thanks.

Trying to find a YouTube video for an example.

P.S. Sorry wasn't sure where else to post this. There is no General pc hardware forum :(

read nvidias drivers, i think they have a firefox bug thats still not fixed.

Sometimes this is due to having hardware acceleration enabled in FF with certain hardware, try disabling it and see if it continues.
