It isn't exactly free. Free to play games pull in more money than many traditional games. Fortnite is an excellent example. Follow the money - those kind of games and business models are sadly the way forward. A traditional game with a set gameplay style, theme and art style just isn't going to pull in the same kind of cash that something like Fortnite/Apex Legends will. I think the days of something like BF are numbered. If you can't monetize every aspect of it it has no future. A military themed game just doesn't offer the microtransaction flexibility of those other titles.

thats how I felt about bf4. except bf4 had faster ttk so it was literally deathmatch mode on conquest.

I finished gold plating my m1897 shotgun tonight. I have a 45 kill game with it on twisted steel using slugs I recorded. kinda want to upload it to youtube but editing the boring parts out takes forever.

I'm pretty certain my play style in BF2's Oman is the reason why it was made impossible to spawn kill in the newer BF games :) I was the guy that would snipe pilots when they spawned into their planes. I also would load up a vehicle with C4 (Jeep stuff) and ram into a group of n00bz waiting for a plane or helicopter to spawn and then steal that vehicle. Good times!!

Are their Hardcore servers in BFV? Finding it a bit ridiculous to have to shoot someone multiple times with a high powered rifle to kill them.
 
I swear the buggys and jeeps in bf2 were so much fun to drive.

no hardcore. the recon's ZH-29 is a 2 body shot kill. battlefield has never had a single body shot kill weapon except for a rpg type or granade launcher as far as I can remember outside of hardcore.
 
Anyone having crashing issues? Since the last update to BFV I have been experiencing a crash to desktop at the title screen, the sound will skip, then strait to desktop, no error messages. The game played perfectly fine before the recent update. I have reinstalled graphics drivers, reinstalled all of my motherboard drivers with the latest versions, re-installed Origin and BFV twice, still exhibiting this issue. Very frustrating.
 
I have quite the love/hate relationship with this game lol, since the last patch I have been having a lot more fun for some reason.

It also seems like there are a lot less cheaters, only one obvious one in the last couple days.

Literally every sniper rifle in BF1 was a one hit body shot kill if you were in the "sweet spot" range for the rifle.

I think it had to be upper torso too? the only time I really used the sniper rifles were with iron sights and close/mid range going for headshots. it was a great way to practice aim.
 
I wasn't complaining, I may or may not be taking advantage of it to run people over and watch them rage in chat lol.
 
Where can I buy this game the cheapest I'm seeing 35.00 at CD keys which is Ok I suppose but looking for a better deal and not a Hacked key from ebay.

Several users on Gameflip are selling BFV for anywhere between $15 and $25. I'm seeing one right now for $15, auto delivery (you receive the code automatically). I bought a key yesterday for $25 from a user with auto delivery, was an Nvidia redemption code (24 characters). Lot of good, cheap stuff on Gameflip, would highly recommend it, and their support is prompt and great.
 
this month should be interesting for the game. firestorm, greece map. a new roadmap which will show if dice plans to abandon this game or not.

Still looking to pull the plug on this game I read a review on Metacrtic though that says Battlefront 2 is way better =)
Which I kinda agree with except Battlefront 2 is like Hamburger Hill.

Battlefront 2 is a little underrated.

I like the latest Conquest map in BFV, Hanut? The artillery that you can tow into position is awesome if you can get it up and running. And I love the focus on tanks. More old school battlefield.

There is a really good game waiting to emerge if they make some better maps.
 
I'm in the BFV club now went the CD keys route so my account doesn't get banned.
Going to see if this game is better than Battlefield Hardline.
 
They really changed alot of stuff in this game the Maps are really detailed which makes it hard to figure out where enemy fire is coming from. Otherwise I like the game not sure how much time I'll spend playing it though. It's alot more laid back then Call of Duty that is for sure.

Still playing and still enjoying it. Doing the Tides of War challenges makes me a worse player though. Focusing ONLY on the task at hand to complete the step needed. Often times its not helping the team out at all.

I think it plays great, and looks fantastic too. New maps will be nice though, looking forward to them.
 
Agreed, tides of war is evil.
I wish they had more period weapons, fewer automatics, more early tanks, Americans, etc.
This had the makings of an amazing game, and while still pretty good, dice cocked it up bad. Very easily could have been much better.

I stopped playing two months ago. I have no doubt that most of the effort is being put into the br firestorm or whatever it's called. That fails. The game is dead. Period. EA has Apex and now this? Yeah. They are all in on making that fortnite level revenue. One way or the other. Bfv is not a battlefield. It is just another shot at that revenue stream epic has tapped into. Surprised anthem doesn't have a br mode too.

Eh, thats what Battlefield was, laid back, take your time, plan your route.. Its what I and many others thoroughly enjoyed.

Unfortunately EA saw what COD was doing, and decided to say fuck it, and turn BF into a run and gunner..

The maps are slowly become the typical 3 lanes of movement that COD uses. They are already super small compared to even BF4.

It sucks.., I highly doubt they can turn this around.

This will be just like Hardline.. Couldve been an awesome game, but will end up 6ft under...
 
major road map coming middle of this month, before firestorm launches so expect firestorm at end of the month. they are really keeping the firestorm info under wraps like apex did. I'm excited to see what they do. pubg, apex, fortnite I had issues with the gameplay so I'm curious if this plays like how I want lol.
