I think the title says it all.

Is like to buy a legal Windows 10 key.

Where are the informed people doing this today in order to get the best price?

Much obliged.

The best price on a legitimate license key is going to be an OEM license from a major retailer like Newegg, Amazon, etc.

Kinguin is like buying a grayware Steam key. Just because it activates doesn't mean it's legitimate/genuine/legal. The keys sold through their are either foreign, not eligible for resale in the US (VLK,Home Use, etc), or stolen.

The other issues is people who use stolen CC information buy keys (Windows, Steam, etc) on those sites and resell them. So buy using those grayware sites you may be inadvertently supporting the stolen CC industry.

That's just one site, but Google Kinguin and spend 10 minutes reading up on it. The only way to not support that crap is by using legit sites.

If a deal is to good to be true, it probably is holds true here 100%.

At this point, it's (IMO) a matter of how ethical/moral you are over buying these keys. Like people who buy [obvious] volume-license keys and such, it might work but your moral/ethical standards will come into play. And yes, I have personally bought some Windows 7/10 keys as well as Office 2010/2013 keys from places that would be considered gray, they worked, they were for some system flips of older personal systems. But at work building new machines, obviously can't do that, have to use legit OEM/Retail copies from Newegg/Amazon.

Hmm.

I wonder what percentage of keys on Linguine are shady.

If someone is just trying to sell of spare legitimate keys, I'm all for that.

I don't want to buy keys stolen from stickers on the bottom of someone else's laptop, or keys bought with stolen credit cards though.

I mean, if we are talking a 5-10% chance the key in question was sources illegally, that's a good faith risk I'd take, not much unlike buying used hardware, there is always a risk.

If we are talking 80-90% chance of buying illegally acquired keys though, then I'd likeöy be looking elsewhere....
